Hello,

My husband has been living in Nigeria all his life. We are in the process of submitting our AOS and are trying to tackle the domicile problem.

Can anyone who has been in a similar position and has gone through consular processing in Nigeria or elsewhere give advice on if this is sufficient information to prove intent to domicile in the US.

Steps I have taken to maintain US Domicile:
- Maintained my Florida state voter’s registration card and intend to vote in upcoming elections

- Maintained my American Express credit card registered in the US to my US address
- Maintained my Bank of America credit card registered in the US to my US address
- Maintained my bank account with Bank of America
- Maintained my Florida state drivers license

- I have an active U.S. Social Security number
- I have filed taxes as required with the IRS to esnure tax compliance

- My wife has maintained a US account

Supporting Documents for the above steps I have taken:
- Voter registration card showing permanent US address
- American Express credit card statement showing US billing address
- Bank of America credit card statement showing US billing address
- Bank of America Bank statement showing permanent US address
- Florida drivers license showing permanent US address

-Photocopy of Social Security Number

-Tax records for 2015,2014 and 2013

-My wife’s Bank of America Bank statement

Steps I have taken to return to the US to take up residence:
- Made arrangements for us to have a house to live in
- Contacted shipping company for estimate of costs to ship belongings

Supporting documents for the above steps I have taken:

- Letter of accommodation from my brother stating that we will be living with him in the US
- Estimate and correspondence regarding shipping our belongings

I will really appreciate any help I can get

thank you
