Thanks for that. Well that is a mystery then. I haven't heard anything about a new system, so I can't help you there. Pretty silly to schedule you, and then decide they made a mistake and aren't ready after all. 

Would you like to be added to our list? If so, let me know the other dates, for fingerprints and the like. Have a look at out list, and  you can see what dates we have in the chart.

there is no change in USCIS site status I called and they said the same there isn't a change and its just probably the field center rescheduling my appointment   Yes add me please

Not me. My Mother is in a secure Alzheimer's ward, and is mostly in a persistent vegetative state. My Father died a few years back. I think I might be older than many here, my children are 39 and 43, and have their own lives. I have three sisters, but that applies to them as well. They all live in Canada.

Same here here cdneh, my kids are 34 and 32, both married with kids of their own, my 3 siblings are all settled, mum also has Alzheimer's and in permanent care (dad still living but won't leave her) all in the UK. I have no-one to bring.

I see.. I know what it feels like to have an ill parent in continuous care as well. I'd still like to have her here with me. I'll just browse some threads and see what the route is.

@A&M21I'm a November filer and will be filing for my mom right away, although she doesn't want to live here but I'm her only child so I'm just planning ahead as she gets older. Both of my children are US citizens.

 

To answer your 2nd question, you have to file I-130. There is a forum on VJ for that. My plan once I have successfully completed the interview and have my oath scheduled is to get the form ready and the documents and file right away. For petition for my mom I have to submit my birth certificate and then the naturalization certificate. That at least gets you in line and then when that's approved then there are steps to be taken in their home country. Review this:https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-130instr.pdf
