Hey, is it normal for the case status to be stuck on fingerprints scheduled for months? I've filed in late Sept or early Oct, and have done my fingerprints on the 30th of October in Seattle. However, the status is still fingerprints scheduled 3 months later; I called them once and they told me to wait, and  basically that online status only changes when they send me something - so, it is bogus now and will only change again when they send me the interview letter. However, I see most people report "in line for interview" status first, so I was wondering if that is correct.

Thank you!

I got a text yesterday, and a letter today. Notice day was January 24. The office where I'll have an interview is 10min from my house. ?

Hope things start to move quickly for the rest of you!

Congrats on your Interview. You'll be done with this once and for all soon lol

Can I ask you one quick question? You received your letter just one day after the text. Do you know when your online status changed to "My Interview was Scheduled"? Like in my case, it still says "On 11/28, we started the interview scheduling process blah blah blah..." So I just wanted to know the date that your interview was scheduled.

Thank you and congrats again.

I think if I were you, I'd call them again. Your fingerprints were nearly 3 months ago. Your status ought to change to 'we have started the interview scheduling process' first,  so the inline for interview status, then the interview letter.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

We were stuck just like you with the following verbiage:

10/17/2016
sign_icon.png

We scheduled you for a fingerprint appointment.

Then I received an electronic notification today 1-30-2017 with the following:

Interview Was Scheduled

On January 30, 2017, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxxxx. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

The interesting part is that this also popped up today:

11/07/2016
sign_icon.png

We are scheduling your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , for an interview.

I've checked the status on different browsers / computers and cleared my temp files periodically (also ctrl+F5) so it can't be a cache problem. It's probably a glitch in their system.

I have no idea because I didn't check online immediately. All of this happened in just a couple of days. When did you send your papers? Maybe it's just a matter of time before you get your interview notice.

I sent it on 9/27. Seeing that your FO is Springfield MA actually gave me hope that I will soon receive my Interview letter. But I won't be holding my breath since we all know how fast USCIS is...

So true about USCIS. I was surprised to get Springfield, because I did everything in Hartford, CT. USCIS have mobile office in Springfield, whatever that means. :)

It suits me good.

I wouldn't mind if I got Springfield too... lol... even if it means 2 hours of driving but what the heck I'm just so fed up with this whole process especially after almost a year of ROC-ing...

11 months to ROC here too. I wish I would get somewhere else, it's nearly 5 hours return for me, from here to Memphis. I always seem to get early in the day appointments, so the last time we went up the day before. My husband is disabled now, and by the time I get him upright, medicated, and ready to roll, well, I'd have to be on the road at O dark early to do it.

I did ask if the newer building they did the fingerprinting in this time was also the same place for the interview. It isn't, apparently that is clear the other side of the city. Sheesh.

On the upside, we saw a brand spanking new Ikea is going to be open the next time we go. :)

It sounds worse that it really is I guess, just time consuming. It will be grand to be done with all this!

Do you mind if I ask where in New Zealand you are from?

I used to study at Victoria University in Welly for 1.5 year... Such a lovely country, a tad too windy and hilly for my taste though lol... Always miss the sunlight at 9pm in the summer...

Canada :D  I was born in Canada, and moved to Auckland for work in the early 90's. Lived there for  20 years, and I think more than anywhere, that's home.  I took my Husband there last February, and he really would rather have stayed. Except for the driving on the left, that made him crazy.  We also drove from here up to Vancouver in August just past, to see my son, and collect some stuff he was storing for me. I never felt at home there, anytime I go to Canada, I have the very strong sense that I am not 'from' there anymore.  I hear that I really have an odd accent, neither here, nor there, which would be about right. Many years ago I also lived in the UK, which probably contributes to that.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Obviously, being British, driving on the left is perfectly natural for me :D Having said that, driving on the right is somehow easier. My husband's big thing when driving in the UK is roundabouts:

a) they're everywhere! and

b) he looks left first.....

It's a 5 hour drive from here to Memphis - that's a 10 hour return journey for us
