Hi cdneh,

 

My apologies for not getting back to you all.

Was quite busy after the Oath.

 

Took my Oath on 21st September. Boring ceremony in Dallas Courthouse.

Applied for my passport the same day from Dallas Passport Agency, which is in the same building and I had previous appointment scheduled for that day, for the passport.

The next day,  Friday, Sept 22 I changed my Driver License because I changed my name slightly.

Received my passport on Monday, Sept 25th! 

Flew to Dhaka, Bangladesh on Oct 15th.

 

Me and my Fiance GOT MARRIED on Oct 27th.

 

Got back to Dallas on Dec 2nd.

 

Filed I-130 Petition for my wife on Dec 14th.

Received text from USCIS with a case no, on Dec 20.

 

I will be tracking my Wife's case in a different forum!

Not long at all. My interview was July 12, and the Oath ceremony was on August 18th. The notice was sent out on the 27th of July, so I had about 3 weeks notice from memory.

Thanks for responding! My interview was on December 14th, received an email/text notification that my Oath ceremony was mailed on the 27th of December but I haven't received the notice in the mail yet.

Hi 

Here are my case details applied in Houston, Texas 

10/11/2016 Applied for N-400, Application for Naturalization 
10/13/2016 USCIS received Form N-400, Application for Naturalization 
10/24/2016 USCIS scheduled for a fingerprint (Biometrics) 
11/09/2016 Biometrics done 


My online status still says "On October 24, 2016, we scheduled you for a fingerprint appointment". I contacted everyone my area Congressman, Senator, Ombudsman but all they say is "USCIS is unable to provide a specific time frame for resolution of the case". I called USCIS 800 number and they say my case is still within Priority date which currently is September 3, 2016 and so will not open a service request. 

I am kind of stuck now please let me know what other options do I have. I was not expecting that long of a time I have other folks who applied after me and they already got there passports. It's very frustrating.

I would suggest you need to make an info pass appointment. You may have to try several times, and at odd hours, like late at night to make an appointment, but that is what I would do.

I have been checking the USCIS website for appointment and it always say no appointment available in Houston area I have been trying this for almost 2 months now if I call the representative shuts me down by saying your date is not current yet.

Houston does seem like one of the busier centers, for sure. Keep trying to book one,  and try at all hours of the day, even very late at night, just after midnight if you can. It seems new appointments are listed just after midnight.  I'd also keep calling and asking for a Tier 2 Officer.

Lynyogini, what date did you file the petition? I did mine the end of March 2017. Still waiting on the line for scheduling interview

I filed mine on February 15th. It took 8 months before I heard something. Are you also Memphis filer?

Yes. I am Memphis filer. I did apply for mine at the  end of the March (not sure what date, have to check it out).
