Finally managed to get AOS paperwork mailed to Chicago today.  anyone know if the app tracks the AOS paperwork progress?

we got our emails for case recvd on the 131,485 and 765 applications today. check was also cashed today

The biometrics appointment,is that something scheduled near where you live or can it be done anywhere?

Hey, we are on about the same exact timeline right now....after reading a few posts here and there I've read some people did their biometrics in a different city (someone was from a different state but on vacation or work in Seattle and did it there without any problem). But I think they have specific facilities that you use in the closest city near you. I guess it will give more details once we receive the instructions in the mail.

Thanks Java, I work away from home for weeks at a time so it would be easier for us to do away from home

Hi all, so we sent our AOS paper work late June. However we never got the travel or work permit. We recently got the interview date For the green card next month. My question is: if we're approved and received the green card and haven't received the permits yet,  am I allowed to work? Just with the green card? thanks

About your concerns about the biometric appointment:

I missed the date due a delay on the mail, however we went to the same place as the letter indicated, even though we were 2 weeks delayed for the appointment, they still took us and accepted taking the biometric info even without an appointment, so it seems they're not really picky on that. "case ready to schedule for interview". if we missed the biometrics appointment,can it be rescheduled ?

Yes, you can, just go to USCIS website and get an Infopass appointment to the nearest USCIS office, show up on the scheduled date and they will do it for you. It happened to me, the letter came 2 weeks after the biometrics appointment. Don't worry, they're not picky on that, just know that this will delay a lot on your process.

Thanks for the reply,we are always away from home working so i am certain we missed the letter/appointment. we been away from home 5 weeks and will be 2 more before we can home again

We went into the Indianapolis local office. The receptionist at the desk told me there is a 90 day grace period on the biometrics appointment.    They took us in when they called all the people there for biometrics but we had to wait until all the people that had appointments for that day were taken. Whole visit lasted about an hour and a good portion of that was waiting on them to return from lunch break. They told us we could expect it to be about 30 days for them to set an interview appointment.

Just an Update, wife got her Green-card literally 3 days after her AOS interview!

We were approved for AOS the day after our interview. USPS says my wife's green card will be in our mailbox on Tuesday!

Congrats! Now we can just live for the next 2 years normal and not waiting, haha
