Congratulations all of you guys that have made progress, that were approved and are with their loved ones already. We had our interview (more like I) and we are in AP. Consular officer didn't give more than a cursory glance at our papers (per online guidelines - rapid visa was of no help at all) and said he wasn't convinced and i had to bring more evidence of the relationship. I've taken something in but its a waiting game now - so current status:Limbo.

We cant carry out any of our plans or even make plans at this point. I have an amazing SO meaning the wait is not so dreadful, he curbs my impatience.

Had my interview today and passed! I've never been more nervous for anything in my life, but luckily there were another 3 lovely women in the queue with me that helped mollify the nerves. Anyway, the wait was almost unbearable but we finally have our K1! Yay!

Just an update, my fiancée is here happily in the US...we are excited to finally get away from LDR and see each other daily! Now onto getting married and AOS soon after. I flew with her back to the US from the Philippines, we had a nice stay and the immigrations POE in Seattle WA went very smoothly. I stayed with her the whole time and it only took about 45 minutes and this was just because of the volume of non-us passport carriers entering. She is trying to adjust to the cold weather but I think she didn't realize or understand the true meaning of how cold it is here, it just meant lots of shopping and slowing adjusting to being outside.

I'm very thankful for everyone's input which has made this process go smoothly, I'm sure we will have many more questions and searches for input on AOS and beyond.

Congrats.   We are two days out from her arrival in San Francisco.  She's packing and keeps sending me pictures of her packing.  LOL.  She gonna find out about 50F weather.

I hope a Tuesday arrival is not too packed at the airport/customs.

Thanks, glad that process is done. I would think that a Tuesday wouldn't be to bad, but San Francisco is a little bigger airport then SEA-TAC. My fiancée also loves to send pictures of everything, good thing it's the digital age now! lol

Fiance received her packet in the mail. Now just have to jump through the hoops such as a DS-160, police clearance, medical exam, and whatnot. Have to contact the Mumbai Embassy as we are a bit unclear about her 19 (soon to be 20) yr old son and his K2. We are planning to acquire his police clearance, but unsure if he needs his own medical exam and interview. I think he does need to attend a separate interview, but not getting a whole lot of consistent info.

Hi guys, I am super excited for you all. I have come across something really silly with my application.

I happened to never get my NOA2, my package is in the US Consulate in my country. I have everything from NVC, it is all okay. However I am afraid to schedule the interview and they demand the letter (neither on-line or the hardcopy shows it as approved, weirdly). what should I do?

For K2s the process is similar to the main beneficiary (K1), including all procedures and fees. Therefore, your fiancee's son must have a medical exam ($240) and must apply for K2 visa through filling in the DS-160 form (K visa fee is $265). He must schedule an interview and show up for it. The interview can be done at the same time with his mom, but he still needs to book his own interview and bring a confirmation to the Embassy. Have him registered at ustraveldocs.com for that. He will also need to bring for the interview the same set of required documents, including affidavit of support I-134.

I am a beneficiary and have a daughter, K2 applicant, who is the same age as your fiancee's son. Speaking from my own experience.

Most likely, your NOA2 hard copy have gotten lost in the mail. Happens quite often, alas. Just email to USCIS and requiest a copy of your NOA2. Make sure your mailing address is correct. NOA2 (I-797 form) isn't required for an interview but it is an important document, you will need it when you apply for AOS

It has actually never been updated, it still says " case was received" so I believe they haven't even updated the system or sent out any mailing for my address.

How did you find out that your petition was approved? Did you get an email from USCIS?
