Congrats. You can start checking out ticket prices but you probably have been looking already.

Jim

Careful, don't book flights until the visa is in your hand.

(I assume it is not yet in hand)

I am from Costa Rica and I am still waiting for the package to be delivered to the Consulate.

According to NVC Website our case is still 'Transit' (since December 22, 2016). Also we got a letter from NVC informing that.

Could I start collecting data (birth certification and police record)???? Or Should  wait for the Consulate letter instead?

Thanks,

There is no packet three from my understanding, so that's a good thing! I scheduled my fiancé interview, filled out the day-160 and paid for the visa... you should fill out your ds-160 and then go on the "Jamaica courier service" website you can google it and it pops right up, and sign up you pay your fees on there website first, then they will give you the available dates left in January and February, it's really easy, I was so lucky my fiancé got his interview for January 27 and his medical is January 17... good luck!!!!??

Hi! As someone already stated, there is no packet 3. My fiance emailed Andrews hospital for the medical, we still haven't received a response, although the generic reply stated someone would contact us within 2 business days, it's going on 2 weeks now. He tried calling to no avail. He had to physically go to Andrews in order to schedule the medical appointment, when he inquired why no one  responded to his email, he was told they have a backlog for responding to emails. At any rate, they gave him the medical form that needs to be filled out and they gave him an appointment date for the end of January. We've scheduled his visa interview for the end of February. Remember a police report and the certificate of non-impediment is needed for the visa interview, both should take about 1 week to get. Good luck!!!

So true! My fiancé  called that hospital numerous times until this past Thursday he called and got a nurse, who scheduled the interview for him to go January 17, so luckily he did not have to go personally... and yes they don't respond to emails.... I emailed them 3 weeks ago and no response, that was a complete waste of time... they are extremely busy there I guess it's because it's the only hospital on the island that does the US medical for the embassy... they use to have the US medical also at  Fairview medical in Montego Bay, but stopped that recently... I just hope the embassy receives my fiancé medical ontime for visa issuance, because from looking at visa journey other k-1 applicants out of Jamaica embassy are saying they have been approved by the embassy pending receival of the medical results, basically AP status until then... some for weeks so I guess I will see my fingers are crossed for good news on that day... good luck to you on your journey!!!!

Hey! Wow...he had to go up there?  Someone from the Embassy actually called him on Friday to get his email address and they emailed us the forms and website to set the appointment on. We already have the no-impediment and waiting for his passport to come in this week so we can fill out the visa app and request the police record. I'm hoping we can get an interview date for the beginning of February.
