We got case # from NVC!!!!!

Next steps please?????????

It would take 5 business days from when you recd the case number from NVC for your paperwork to arrive at your embassy. Meanwhile...

Next step would be to fill the DS-160. https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx

The subsequent steps are embassy specific, but in general they are

Pay the VISA fees

Make interview appointment

Get police clearance from local police authority

Print and take appointment letter to get the medical done

Collect all document requirements based on instructions given by your embassy

Interview

I would recommend that you complete filing the DS-160, wait for the case status to turn to "Ready" at the NVC site and then email your embassy for the next steps.

Hang on a sec there. The transit time for I-129F's from the NVC to the embassy varies by embassy as do the next steps. I would encourage everyone to check in with their embassy for the details. For example, Bangkok does not allow you to make your own interview appointment nor can you schedule a medical exam until after Packet 4 has been received. This forum is awesome and really helpful, but once your petition is on its way to the embassy, you need to follow the steps provided by the embassy or take a look at the region-specific forums for advice.

The way I got the instructions for my embassy is by finding VJ members who have recently interviewed based on their timeline and PMing them directly. I would also recommend emailing the embassy directly.

Because your country is not listed on your profile therefore your post are not being directed to the Jamaica country portal. May want to update that.

Fiancee finished her CFO on Tuesday (16 hours ahead in Philippines) and is heading home...was a busy past week for her! Just checked the status on CEAC with her visa and it says ISSUED! So I'm guessing it will be delivered within 5 days unless of course the holidays slowi it down.
