Hello all,

Received NVC case number today. I'm not sure when my case number was assigned, but 2 weeks ago I emailed NVC regarding my fiance name being misspelled (USCIS inputted his name incorrectly, I've been trying to get it corrected since NOA1, still not corrected), I received a reply today instructing me on how to correct the misspelling (a copy of the biographic page of passport must be submitted, even though it was a typographical error made on USCIS part). As I'm typing this email I'm on the phone with NVC, the representative said NVC received my file on Monday and sent it to the embassy today, thus, correction of name cannot be done by them now. This is so frustrating, but nothing I can do now. Anyone have any advice about this? When he goes to his interview, will this be a problem?

I suggest emailing the embassy were your petition was sent to notify them of the misspelled error of the name, and on the day of interview your fiancé should let them know that his name was misspelled and they would more then likely correct it before a Visa is issued on that day.

$265 however the fee "may" be going up later this month.

USCIS is increasing their fees on 12/23 but not sure about State Dept.

As you can see below you are just one of many from mid-october who are still waiting.

I'm confident these will all be cleared out before Christmas.

Please keep in mind some of these members have not been active or accounts closed but there are 49 VJ members still waiting with NOA 1 - October.

Hey, thanks! I read on another site that as long as the name is spelt correctly on the DS-160 then we should be ok. So I'm going to let it go.

Just checked the CEAC website, status is now ready (stated in transit yesterday). So that means NVC sent it to the embassy earlier than what I was told yesterday. Woot woot, I'm getting excited now. Now I need to re-read on what's the next step. Good luck everyone!!!

Looks like 26 days from when I first received the text for NOA2. I only called NVC two times about the status and each time my case wasn't received yet. I honestly wouldn't have known that I had a case number if I didn't do that online inquiry a few weeks ago, they just replied to me yesterday. Hang in there, it's coming.

Trying to not be impatient is tough but at least we are at the home stretch. I already started gathering all the documents the Kingston embassy will need, so no problems should arise.... good luck on your journey!

I have everything gathered just need the NVC case number so I can schedule his appt and book my ticket to Jamaica
