I did not have my divorce decree notorized and no rfe(phew) but now wondering if I should and give it to her for future purposes?

We don't need to have our signatures notarized after the fact.

You should look for a certified copy of the divorce

Oh you are in WA to so I can tell you what mine says exactly if you need to know.

There are 2 items the the certificate of dissolution which has a raised seal for state of WA with a pink stamp over it.

Next there is the decree of dissolution which gives all the terms of the dissolution (they don't use the word divorce in our state for some reason) and has the state of WA and county stamp with signature of clerk.

Judges signature will also be on another page.

I would get these if you don't have them and send to your partner.

You can order the certificate on-line

Jim

I only received scanned copies from the lawyer. I guess I will have to visit the court and get a notorized copy. Good information to stumble across on here to evade surprises going forward I suppose. Thanks for alerting me. We will have to rendez-vous in cannon beach with our ladies one weekend. Cheers

I really hope so and no problem.

As Ben Franklin once said " if we do not all hang together we will all be hanged separately" or something pleasant like that.

I think a Washington state group get together would be great if others are interested later once we are all settled in? We could share our experiences and just a reason to have a fun time out, Cannon beach is great.

I guess I'm the only one in the October group still waiting on NOA2. ? Is it a bad sign that it's taking this long?

My apologies for not updating sooner. I called NVC last night but being on hold had me late to an appointment so I couldn't update last night. Called NVC last night to check on the case number. The gentleman I spoke too said I hit the jackpot that night. He had four bits of info for me, three numbers and one bit of information. He gave me a case number, an invoice number and a Beneficiary ID and said my package was already on it's way to the embassy. I am listing last night's date,12/2, in my timeline because I didn't call on 12/1.
