Today is day 12 since NOA2 for us. I've been getting really antsy waiting to call NVC on day 14, so I decided to submit an inquiry via the "Ask NVC" page. Not sure how quickly they'll get back to me. Anyone know about how long it takes? I've heard that e-mail replies take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks and I'm not sure if that same timeline applies to inquiries submitted through the form I used.

Just wanted to say that I'm at Day 25 of waiting, if I am to go off of the date in the NOA1. This wait is driving me a little nuts lol

I hear you. Just hang in there. I'm no fortune teller but I'd say you have a greater than 75% chance of getting your NOA 2 (assuming no RFE) by 28th of this month.

The case number allows us to finish the DS-160 form, finish the medical exam, and CFO (in Philippines), and ultimately schedule an interview date. Honestly I'm guessing the US citizen filing it is suppose to notify his or her fiance/fiancee and start the DS-160 because they are the only ones that can fill out this form since it needs to be electronically signed by him/her only. I also don't understand why they have the 2 steps before going to consulate/embassy, maybe a way to route them?

TIp. The American can fill out the DS-160 and in theory even sign it BUT it legally MUST be signed by the foreigner . If the he or she is having trouble with navigating or input of the info then the American can do it but the signing part which is all digital 100% needs to be done by the foreigner.

Here on VJ we count from NOA 1 (date on letter).

Agree though. No RFE's please.

Jim

That makes quite a difference, I will have to adjust my countdown  Hopefully we all get our NOA 2's soon, the wait seems like forever! Congrats to everyone who's passed on to NVC btw!

I don't recall needing the case number for the DS-160...maybe that's where I'm confused.

Your right, I thought it was needed for DS-160...it's needed to make consulate appointment though.

here is a lengthy post explaining what to do http://www.visajourn..._1#entry5093888

Called NVC today and found out that they received my packet yesterday. Whooo! It's looking like it takes a day or two for the case number to be assigned? So, I'll try calling back tomorrow or later this evening. Heheh.

Called NVC early this morning too but haven't heard back yet.

Is your NOA1 / NOA2 dates the day you got your physical copy in mail or online?

If any case I think mine should be next week as your NOA2 was approved a bit faster than ours :D
