Dear all,

Thank you so much for your help so far!

I have another doubt regarding my name! The online application (DS160) as well as another document received in packet 3 ask to indicate "ALL other Names Used or Aliases". In this regard, my real name is CRISTIANO, but since birth everyone calls me "Cristian" and this is the name people call me by or I use on my email for example.

My official name (Cristiano) appears on all legal documents, certificates etc.

At this point, do you think I should just indicate my legal name on the form or also add "Cristian", which is the one I use in everyday life?

Many thanks in advance for your help!!!

Cristian(o)

We were in the same situation. Use your legal name. My husband's name is Michael but it is legally spelled Michell yet he has used the other way to spell it all his life. During the adjustment of status we put "Michael" as an alias and the lady who did our biometrics said not to put that down in that particular circumstance. So I don't think it hurts either way to put it as I also put something under "alias" during the K1 process

So he has to spell it "Michell" until we can change it during citizenship stuff

Hope this is helpful

That line is referred to those who had a different name, legally. For example, anyone who changed their name in a court of law or anyone who got married and has a maiden name.

Always put your name as it shows on your passport... always. No need to add nicknames.

Thank you so much, this is very clear, I will use only my legal name!
