Hey I-751 filers,

Some basic questions.

1. Did you guys put N/A in each and every questions for I-751? We do not have kids and lot of informations do not apply to us. Has anyone got their form back from USCIS not filling out correctly or something? For middle name, I'm just going to put N/A.

2. On the physical Adress for Part 4: Information about the U.S Citizen, I do not have Province, Postal Code. Did you guys just leave it blank? I was not 100% sure of Province is same as County? So decided to put N/A?

Hello Guys !

I received a letter from USCIS asking me to remove conditions. The fact is that I sent my package as soon as I got the letter and now I realized it was within the 90 days before my GC expires (01/07/2017).

I sent the package yesterday (Ughh !!! Two weeks before the 90 days )

My questions are....

1-When will I get my package back approx. since i sent it early ?

2- Will I received a letter from them before documentation is sent back ?

Is the NOA1 for this the letter that extends the green card? We're traveling to Colombia to visit on December 29, which happens to be the exact date his green card expires. Kind of worried we won't get the letter in time. What if they're super slammed or something?

Also, did everyone use USPS to ship to the P.O. box? I know FedEx can't get there. Is USPS the only option?

USCIS (Priority date April 1, Approval April 17, no RFEs)

March 28, 2014: I-130 sent via FedEx from Bogotá to Chicago Lockbox

April 1, 2014: Delivered to Chicago Lockbox at 10:29 a.m. according to FedEx tracking; signed for by J. CHYBA (date confirmed by My Case Status)

April 4, 2014: NOA1 e-mail received at 12:17 a.m.; case accepted and routed to CSC for processing. Check cashed.

April 17, 2014: Changed mailing address with USCIS Tier 2 representative. He also confirmed that our case had arrived to the CSC and that our NOA1 date is April 3.

April 18, 2014: NOA2 e-mail received at 12:30 a.m. Case status online changed to post-decision activity; date of "last updated" changed to April 17. Change of address e-mail received at 3 a.m. Status changed back to initial review on e-mail and online. Date of "last updated" now April 18. Called and spoke to two Tier 2 reps; both were useless.

April 21, 2014: Approval confirmed verbally by Tier 2 rep. Order put in to send second NOA2 hard copy to new address. Instructed to ignore online case status.

April 25 or 26, 2014: NOA1 hard copy arrives to old apartment in Bogotá. Priority date actually April 1. (April 3 was the notice date.)

May 16: USCIS change of address e-mail received

May 19: USCIS e-mail received saying a duplicate notice was mailed on this date. Case status now set to "Acceptance."

May 22: NOA2 duplicate hard copy arrives to U.S. address

NVC

April 29, 2014: Case received

​May 22, 2014: Case number and IIN assigned. Asked operator about our move from Colombia to Argentina and received instructions.

May 24, 2014: E-mails about embassy change/address change sent to nvcinquiry@state.gov at 4:36 p.m. NVC time

​June 3, 2014: Payment portal message "This case is in the process of termination" appears. DS-261 appears, submitted. E-mails received from NVC concerning case number and AOS bill.

June 4, 2014: AOS payment invoiced, paid; DS-261 received by NVC

June 6, 2014: AOS payment shows as PAID in payment portal

June 17, 2014: Response received from nvcinquiry@state.gov. "The correspondence submitted is currently under review. An appropriate action will be taken once this review is completed."

Hey Abby & Mario,

Yes NOA1 is the 1 year extension. It does not matter if your card is expired as long as you have NOA1 1 year extension letter. You should get NOA1 within a week or slightly more after they received your application. So go ahead and send the application.

I only know P.O. box address for I-751 which you can use to ship your application. You are totally safe and sound for DEC 29 travel since you have 2 months (that's plenty to get NOA 1 :).

You will get your NOA1 letter fairly quickly (maybe in a week after they receive your packet). You will be travelling with this NOA1, your expired GC and of course your Passport.

Make sure to not miss the biometric appointment which could be in Nov/Dec time frame. You will get another NOA (I-797C) for your biometric appointment.

Hello everyone,

Today we got our I-751 application and paperwork back from USCIS :crying:

They said we filed too early....we received a letter from them on 10/8 say8ing: "Our records indicate that you entered the U.S. as a conditional permanent resident on 1/13/15" and the letter goes on to say we must file 90 days prior to the Jan 13th date. The letter we received today said we filed too early since my husband's GC expired on 1/30/17 and they said to file 90days prior to that date (1/30).....

Sent I-751 Form: Oct-11-2016

-Arrived at USCIS (Per USPS Tracking): Oct-13-2016

-USCIS Returned I-751 Form & all documentation: Oct-17-2016 (Date of Letter: Oct-13-2016) Reason: Filed more than 90days before GC Expiration Date

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.

You might have already sent out your package by now. VJ Member Tratsing used corporate shipping UPS same day and it worked.

Question to all 2016 October filers.

Did your package had same date for NOA1 and did your package delivered same day?

I'm just wondering if USCIS opens the package on the same day after it receives the package?

You can refer to the activity list in the thread about when the application was dispatched and the date of the NOA1. For me, I sent the application to Vermont via Priority Mail on Oct 1, it was delivered Oct 3 around 10 a.m., and the NOA1 is receipt date is Oct 4 around 7 p.m.

islandgirl80: What date did you send your application?

Pikushi: It would be a good idea to call them and rectify it ASAP. Please update your NOA1 receipt date on the list.

BM2014: You should be good as long as they gave you the extension. I hope you have the overdraft protection in case the check is cashed earlier.

12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).
9/20/2014: Get the 60-day email.
9/30/2014: Case Complete!
10/3/2014: Interview scheduled for November 7.
10/20/2014: Medical appointment.

11/07/2014: Interview.

Hey I-751 filers,

Some basic questions.

1. Did you guys put N/A in each and every questions for I-751? We do not have kids and lot of informations do not apply to us. Has anyone got their form back from USCIS not filling out correctly or something? For middle name, I'm just going to put N/A.

2. On the physical Adress for Part 4: Information about the U.S Citizen, I do not have Province, Postal Code. Did you guys just leave it blank? I was not 100% sure of Province is same as County? So decided to put N/A?

We left middle name blank. Also, left Province and Postal Code blank. Wrote N/A next to Child 1, Child 2, Child 3 and Child 4.

Hi m new to VJ. Me n my husband jointly filed the i751. I got the extension letter. But when i am trying to use reciept number to check my case status it's showing me some error. And I didn't received my biometric appointment yet. Can anyone tell me how long does it takes to get the appointment because i have to go abroad and what if the letter comes when i am not in the country?

You should use the receipt number that you will get in your biometrics notice. I would wait for at least 2 weeks from your NOA 1 date to get biometrics notice. They normally give you a month ahead biometrics date (you can check the timeline of September 2016 filers to get an idea) so even if you travel is within a month, you should be fine. In case, if your biometrics date conflict with your travel, just reschedule one.
