So I am NOT entirely sure how reliable this piece of information truly is.

Your employer cannot legally ask about your specific immigration status.  They can only ask if you are permitted to work in the US and if you require sponsorship.  The only exception to this is if the job requires a US citizen, like a government/government contracting position.

Thanks for sharing the links. They are really helpful.

So I had another change in status today. It now says that my case is received by local office on March 5. So something is surely happening.

I called them to know more. That lady was wierd. she first said that my file is in CSC. Then I told that i got case update that its been transfered to local office. So she then said yes it is. She further added that the local office will contact you if they need more documents or will set-up an interview. I dont know whats happening. In the meantime, I am planning to change state in next couple of weeks and I don't know should I transfer my address at this point or not.

Yup....

Went to check earlier this AM and I was actually thrilled to see the date changed in the "overview mode" (as if  there had been an update...), so you can imagine the disappointment when I saw the "new" update.

I see it as completely unreliable.

Like most of you here, my status have also changed twice lately - Feb 26 and March 5.

I was finally able to make an infopass appointment at SF center for today, which I am heading over in 15 mins.

Ironically, my naturalization interview appointment letter also showed up in my mailbox last week. It is scheduled for March 28th.

Let us know what they say RE this status update, if only to see if it means anything at all.

And congratulations on having your interview scheduled!

Did your naturalization interview show on your case status or it was only online? My status changed, for transfer to my field office, on Feb 26th, but it has not changed since. Am guessing you dont have to go for your appointment then, since you have your interview date already. Good luck.

I filed my N400 online. So I can see both my N400 status and I751 status once I log into my USCIS account.

My INFOPASS this afternoon was not a great USCIS experience at all (oh well, is there even any good experience?)

I had my appointment at 1:30, got there 1:20. Passed security smoothly, and was given a number right after. My number was called right away. The lady collected my GG, NOA, as well as passport for stamp, and told me to go back to the lobby and wait for my number to be called again.

I then waited in the lobby until 2. The entire time I was waiting, there were only 3 windows opening. Each window probably served one number at the most. No wonder it is so hard to get an appointment! They are definitely was than DMV. lol

I was called back to the window at 2pm, and the same lady gave me back my NOA, GG, and passport with a stamp. She said: here is your new GG extension for a year.

I was trying to ask about rescheduling my naturalization interview due to some upcoming travel. She cut me off before I could even finishing. SUPER RUDE.

She told me that you made an appointment to get the stamp, and we gave you the stamp. No further questions can be answered here.

She also said: I am an officer who gives you the stamp, and I did my job. For any other rescheduling request, you should go back read your instruction assuming you speak and read English. I don't know what they would do, I am not an officer there. And I can not guess what they will do.  Blah blah blah....

I wish there is some place you can file a complaint. At least I vented it out here.

Hi, I am sorry to hear that. The officer was very rude to you and very unprofessional. You can file a complaint against a USCIS employee by the following link, regards.

Sorry that you had a bad experience at the field office. Those officers simply dont care. Luckily enough, you have your interview date already, if you can replan around that, that will still work for you. What is your field office by the way. Hopefully I also get an interview scheduled soon. Its been three months already, and I am not even in line for interview, in spite of doing an online application.
