Hi everyone! So, I looked up status for my receipt number that was not working until now, and instead of error, I am getting status as "Name was Updated - On February 28, 2018, we updated your name for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence".  Anyone else got this? The original receipt I was following still says that fees were waived.

Hello everyone, I am also oct 2016 filer at CSC and haven't received an approval yet. My case status also mentions that my file is transferred to local office. However, I have few questions:

1) I am applying for jobs these days. So do you think my employer would acknowledge this situation? Has anyone faced such situation yet?

2) In case I want to get a stamp or some kind of extension, what is the best place to visit? like service center or application center or local office? and what is the procedure?

Please guide me as I don't want to face any troubles after I find a job. Thank you.

employers should not have a problem, considering you are legally allowed to work while waiting, and that’s all they should care.

For the stamp, if you applied in oct 16, your noa most likely already expired (it’s good for 1 year after a date you received it) ,so you should have gotten your stamp at the local office. If not, I would schedule appointment online at the local office and get a stamp in your passport. They will take your expired GC and put a stamp for one year ( at least that is what I got).

Thanks! Good to know

Only difference was they didn't use the other number, they just used their regular number, it said your name has been updated then two days later they were approved.  So obviously someone is doing something as to regard to your case. Don't expect an update online, unless a field office approves your case. I was approved nearly two weeks ago and wouldnt know other than receiving a letter in the mail. My status has not updated, still says case received. However, someone who was transferred to a field office, their case status was updated and they had their card within a week. I am still waiting.

Again, thank you for this info. I’m not stressing out about it, just didn’t find this update on the forum. Congrats on your approval and I’m sure you’ll get your card any day now.

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't got a stamp yet. So local office near me is in San Antonio which is 3 hrs away. Can I visit one of the application center (in Houston) for the stamp which is 1 hour from my place?

For me, I had to drive 3hrs as well. Local office in Michigan where I did my biometrics did not do this. I had to go to the main one in Detroit. When you go online to schedule appointment, when you put your zip code, it will give you the closest office. You might have to drive further unfortunately. The process takes few minutes though

Your employer cannot legally ask about your specific immigration status.  They can only ask if you are permitted to work in the US and if you require sponsorship.  The only exception to this is if the job requires a US citizen, like a government/government contracting position.

@gilesampion so you filed in October but your NOA1 is from November ? I don't see an associated timeline for you, which local field office are you ?
