I-751 October 2016 Filers

Hey everyone. Just wanted to share my update with you all. Well.. no status updates really on my I-751 , but I had my N-400 interview last week. They did have to go over my I-751 application before interviewing for citizenship though (which was a good thing because I found a typo made my uscis on my application ) . My spouse was there for ROC part of the interview (which was literally 2 minutes long with 2 questions: "you still married? everything is good?"). Officer said that it will be pointless to order my 10-year green card because I will probably receive my naturalization certificate sooner that green card will be printed and come in the mail.  Meanwhile she said I can still use my passport with I-551 stamp.

We had to go down to our local office last month to get a I-94 stamp because his driver's license was expiring and he would be unable to re-new it. Yesterday my husband received his  approval letter, however this letter is from our local office in Fairfax, Virginia, the same office we went to to get his I-94 stamp, it is not from the VSC which is where his ROC went to in October 2016. Our case status online still has the same blah blah blah message that's been there since they received his filing fee in October 2016. In addition today he received another biometrics letter showing an appointment for 02/28/18.

 

Has anyone had this happen? Does he still have to go to do the biometrics even though he has an approval letter stating his card will be received in 60 days?

 

I wonder why the local office sent this letter, did going to the local office to get the I-94 stamp prompt them to just finish his process for him rather than wait on VSC?

 

We are confuzzled! Any ideas or advice?

This is interesting with the case transfer messages happening now.. this person reported an approval from their local office on 2/17. Neptune2011 can you by any chance check the WAC # on the 797 receipt and see what it says? What happened at your biometric appointment yesterday?

Hello there! There is no WAC # it's an EAC # on his 797 receipt.

 

My husband went ahead and did the biometrics again yesterday even though he'd already received a letter of approval from our local office. He was in and out in no time. This morning we received the emails and text notifications of approval and the case status online finally changed to "on March 1, we ordered your new card."

 

It has been a very long and slow journey. Next step citizenship, but we're going to have a rest before starting over with the USCIS again.

 

I hope all the other October 2016 filers that are still waiting get word soon too!!

Oh OK I see you are a Vermont filer, not California. Congratulations on your approval! Did you have an RFE or interview as part of the 751 process?

Yes, we were Vermont. Thanks, it's been such a long process. We never got an RFE. We piled on the evidence with the help of this website, it has been powerfully helpful to us since the beginning!

Have any CSC October-2016 filers been approved since the whole "BULK UPDATE FIASCO" from earlier in the week ? If so, where did your approval letters come from ? CSC or the local field office ?

Do we have anyone whose case went to CSC and has got his approval. Like most of the people here my case was also transferred to my local office. I dont know what that means really after reading all the comments. My docs were accepted on(receipt notice) 10/11/2016, got my NOA on 11/20/2016 and biometrics on 12/9/2016. One of my friend had the case filed in August 2016 and did not have to deal with transfer to local office thing.

Check with the other number on the original notification.

It seems one number says fees waived and the other now says transferred to local office.

I did and same thing error with the other number and fees waived with the regular one
