I called USCIS TIER II support and like always they couldn't give me a straight answer. I got my password stamped a few months ago and they gave me another extension for 1 year. When I went in to get my passport stamped the officer told me there is a delay at the CA office and it may take up to 2 1/2 years to get us October filers processed, which is extremely frustrating but there is nothing we can do about it.

2 and half years to process thru Oct 2016? I sincerely hope that officer is incorrect, they are at a snail speed doing Aug. But it shouldn't take 2 and half years to reach Oct. which is only after Sept., unless they process Sept. alone for another 1 year.

Hi everyone!

I'm sure you already now the process for a I-551 stamp, but I wanted to share my experience with you.

I just came back from my Infopass appointment at 10AM (MIlwaukee USCIS). The total time, from being called to the window to leave the USCIS office, was around 15 min. After explaining the immigrant officer about my NOA expiring on 12/22/2017, she asked for: GC, Passport and NOA. She also mentioned that USCIS is processing August submissions and that she understood they are taking too long (CA CSC). I got  a i551 stamp valid until my passport expires on November 2018. For those who doesn't know (I didn't read anything about it...) the stamp shows the date of the Infopass, "Pending I-751", and valid thru "November, 7, 2018" (2 days before my passport expires). I also clarify with her that if during my trip home in March 2018, I decided to renew my passport, I can travel with both passports (old passport with I-551 stamp and new passport) without problems. I quote: " They (Airport board officers) should know why you are travelling with 2 passports" . If I renew my passport, then I have to go back to the USCIS to cancel my I-511 stamp (in old passport) and get a new one in my new passport. In my case, the immigrant officer gave me back my GC without cuts (as I have read in other posts) and repited couple times that this stamp is good to work and travel abroad.

I feel a tiny bit less stress now that i have my stamp. She was so nice, which helped a lot...

Hopefully they get to October filers before March! (I can daydream..)

I've been following I-751 July 2016 and August 2016 filers posts, so I kind of knew that CSC is processing August, but hearing it from an officer (while in the Processing time table still says July 27, 2016) helped:)

Holy snail speed Batman! We got our NOA1 for 18th Oct, but still no biometic appointment. We called USCIS and got the typical half Yoda, and Mrs. Cleo replies to our questions. However in short they said "soon", "and wait longer". If we dont get a biometric appointment letter by end of the year for sure will need a Infopass.

Anyone else having the same delay for biometics?

It looks like you're in the wrong thread - this is October 2016 Filers, and I think you are looking for October 2017 Filers.

If it helps any, my husband's biometrics appointment letter didn't get to us pretty late, as well. I agree with what you wrote - I would recommend getting an infopass if you don't get it by the end of the month.

My Christmas gift arrived in the form of an approval notice today. Date of approval is 12/19/2017. They received the RFE on 12/04/2017, therefore it took two weeks to make their decision. Not bad! Like some VJers have reassured me, the RFE could have meant they wanted to know if anything changed since we filed last. Guess I need not have spent nearly two agonizing months about how to respond to the RFE. I had also made sure to mark the envelope with "Response to request for information" like they want in big black lettering; maybe that got their attention sooner. The case status has not been updated from "received your case and waived the filing fee."

I did not have a joint lease, joint checking account, a will, children born in the marriage, or most of their "conventional" proofs. I guess what I did send in and an explanation for the lack of documents sufficed. We did have his life insurance where I was the beneficiary, but we totally forgot about the insurance and did not send it with the original petition or the RFE. I hope this helps any anxious filers in the same situation as ours.

CSC applicants should be hearing something soon. Based on updated timelines of last 10 CSC approvals as of today, 8 had NOA dates of August.

Happy holidays everyone!

Timeline

It is the culmination of the I-751 journey for me. The 10-year green card arrived in the mail today, January, 5, 2018. Mail originated in Corbin, KY, on January 3, 2018. Although the 2-year green card had added the "FNU" to my name, I was able to correct it with the 10-year green card by fixing my passport and giving an explanation  in the cover letter. I suspect all of the October 2016 VSC filers are done with their process despite what the tracker says (some members never came back and updated their info). The process does seem lopsided with the CSC filers not having even a single approval. I encourage the CSC filers to go ahead with the N-400 filing if eligible and to file it online. CSC is processing the N-400 online applications faster with some applicants getting their interview dates within a month of filing. Although the N-400 is not approved with a pending I-751, the I-751 then gets expedited and both get approved soon after. Here is to hoping the CSC filers get activity on their cases soon. Don't forget to let the VJ community know when there is movement.

Hi guys,

Today I received approval letter from VSC.

Please add me to the list:

File date: Oct/20/2016

NOI: Oct/24/2016

Biometrics: Nov/17/2016

Approval: Sep/21/17

The one thing that I have noticed that on the bottom of this letter was signature of the local service center director, that's why I am not sure where this decision was made here or in VSC.

Hi IP7878,

I have a question please,  how you applied for your I-751 to VSC while you live in Ohio? The SC of Ohio is CSC.

And I wish you all the best with a good luck at your N-400 case.

I-485 (AOS)

04/01/2015 Sent Form I-485.

05/06/2015 Scheduled the interview and mailed its notice.

06/16/2015 The Post Office picked up mail containing the new card.

06/16/2015 The 2 years Green Card was mailed to me.

06/18/2015 The 2 years Green Card in hand.

I-751 (ROC)

03/13/2017 Sent I-751 documents to CSC.

03/14/2017 Package received.

03/16/2017 Check cashed.

03/??/2017  NOA received.

03/14/2017 NOA dated.

03/27/2017 Biometrics. "walked-in"

02/26/2018 Case transferred to my local office.

05/01/2018 Case transferred to another office.

05/03/2018 Case transferred to another office.

05/07/2018 Received letter in mail, my case was transferred to NBC. "Letter's date is 05/01/2018"

06/05/2018 Received letter in mail, they will do an interview at the same time, date and location of my N-400 interview. "06/21/2018"

06/21/2018 The combo interview (with N-400 interview). But it's still pending until they send me the result of this interview.

06/27/2018 The case was approved, with the N-400 approval.

06/30/2018 Received the approval letter in mail.

N-400 (Under 3 Years Rule)

04/02/2018 Applied for N-400 Online. (I-751 is still pending)

04/02/2018 Received NOA Online (Received in mail on 4/03/18).

04/27/2018 Biometrics.

05/14/2018 Scheduled the N-400 interview.

06/21/2018 Interview's date.

Passed the English test and the U.S. history and government test.

But: A decision cannot be made yet about my application. The reason is my pending I-751 file!

06/27/2018 The case was approved (with the I-751 approval), and placed me in line for oath ceremony.

07/09/2018 Oath Ceremony was scheduled.

07/20/2018 Oath Ceremony.

U.S. Citizen and proud!

Hi guys,

I have a question...

I filed for my removal of condition i-751 in October 2016 thru CSC.

In August 2017, while I was waiting for my Green Card to come in, we moved to another city in the same state. (However, as you all Oct '16 CSC filers might know, I haven't gotten my Green Card)

I applied for mail forwarding on USPS.com thinking 'If USCIS mails my Green Card to my old place, it will be forwarded to my new address.'

Do my wife and myself submit something to USCIS about the change of address in August 2017 (about 5 months ago)?

Or can I just keep waiting without doing anything expecting USPS to forward my Green Card to my new address?

Thanks a lot in advance.
