It is eerily quiet in the forum today. What are folks up to?

I guess with USCIS and USPS being closed today, no one is getting any news. Happy Columbus day everyone! Whatever this holiday is supposed to represent....

On a positive note, hopefully we see a strong wave of approvals tomorrow. Stay blessed!

My husband got an I-551 extension stamp today, though the officer only extended the validity of his extension letter six months. He assured my husband that his I-751 would be processed within this six month timeframe. With the way things are going at the CSC, I sincerely doubt it. We'll be sending in the N-400 application next week.

Still waiting for anything at all; NOA 10/6/2016, biometrics 11/4/2016.

May I ask what is your local field office? Are you NYC or NJ by chance?

Of course. VSC, initially filed while residing in Burlington, VT (St. Albans field office), relocated to Rochester, NY in late August (Buffalo field office). AR-11 filed on 8/15, confirmed that the change went through for both receipt numbers with a tier 2 rep on 8/29. Hope this helps.

I-551 extension stamp looks like below pic or different ..

If you're asking whether this image shows an I-551 stamp - yes, it does. The ink colors (both stamp and pen) may vary - I've seen both blue and red stamps, what the officer writes tends to vary a bit too, and the dates can be stamped in or handwritten. But overall, this is it.

Hello everyone. Sorry for not updating sooner. We finally have internet at the new house and don't have to worry about using all our data, woo hoo! We went for my husband's infopass appointment October 2. He was granted a stamp immediately, extending his time for one year. (The date on his letter is October 31, 2016.) The officer was clueless and said, "Yeah, this takes forever because there's only one service center that does it, in Vermont. I've seen it take three years before." Sigh...Why do these people never have any idea what they're talking about? (Also, three years?? Huh?? Suspected fraudulent marriage, has to be.) For obvious reasons, I didn't even bother asking about the date-on-letter vs. date-on-card thing. So, whatever. But hopefully we'll be approved soon and we won't have to think about that anymore.

I should have said, extending his time for one year from the date we went for the stamp. So it's through October 1, 2018.

Can someone please tell me where to find the VJ text editor settings so I can add my name to the list? I went to Account Settings but didn't find anything.

I am DESPERATE! My green card expired on January 15, 2017.

I filed on October of 2016, I got the Notice of Action on October 30, 2016 extending my green card for one more year (meaning Jan 2018).

I went to biometrics and fingerprints on December 9, 2016 and after that NOTHING!! no letters, no news, no nothing! I called them in the past and they keep saying they are backed up and that I just need to wait but right now i am in the process of getting a teaching certification and they really need my official green card. I don't know what to do :( Also I checked on their website with my Reference number and Receipt number and it says

  • My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Is this normal? What do you recommend me to do?
