@Janek030 I would suggest to check the Infopass website at midnight around 12:00 am and 1:00 am or early morning. This is how many filers succeeded in scheduling Infopass appointment.

It does not work. I am also from San Antonio as @Janek030 and I check every midnight and every morning -there are no appointments available. I don't even know what to do when the authorized stay expires. As if it's my fault ..

Hi everybody

I am new here. I started to look for information why it is taking so long to remove conditional resident status and I found you guys here 🙄 I see that no one had been approved from California yet.

I have a question. That receipt  I got last year states that valid for one year. So that means that it's going to expire October 1st. Do I need to extend it somehow?  Because I see California fillers probably will start hearing something no earlier than December.

Thanks

California filers seem to be getting the raw end of the deal with processing times. I see that we are stuck on June 20th 2016...so it's looking like January 2018. I have a question in regards to the infopass stamp. My wife has her maiden name on her passport. Does anyone know if this would be an issue?

It wont be an issue I have an a stamp in my passport as my card was stolen, I just took my marriage certificate with me which had my maiden name on it. As long as your wife's passport is current. If not, you will need to take two passport photos with you so they can put it in/on a card.

Also. CSC is not stuck on June 20th 2016 as they are due to update their processing times in the next couple of days.  If you notice those processing times are as of  the 30th June 2017. However, they are not moving quickly recently, but CSC have a habit of catching up and overtaking their rivals VSC,  when they do they tend to leave them far behind!

Hi all,

I am an Oct CSC filer too. How do I even check my case status online?

I have two WAC number on i797-c, one keeps getting me error, while the other one just tells me fees were waived.

And so far I only have (751 receipt notice and I797C in hand. Am I missing anything?

Your not missing anything, we all have the same thing. That WAC number that gives you "Fees were waived"  message is the one you should remember and check.

Went through the thread and updated the list. Nothing from CSC yet. VSC is showing some bursts of progress. Stuck in a rut waiting for this mess of a process to get over with. Because of the mistake on my passport, my first name on the green card was assigned as FNU. On the 10-year green card, they should be able to fix it since I have updated my passport. Waiting for the 10-year green card to correct name at Social Security, DMV and then get a work license with the corrected name.

As some previous comments say, the wording on the NOA has been changed to let the applicants know that the extension is not one year from the date of the notice, but from the expiration of the green card. So it will be one year since they dispatched the extension on October 4th, but they have bought themselves until November 29 (that's when my green card expires).

Traveling with the extension had its difficulties during the return. I was held up at the Indian airport where an officer disappeared with my extension for so long I almost missed check-in. At JFK, I was taken into the secondary holding and when I got out, the packed airport was all empty. Admittedly, the JFK holdup was because of the name mismatch. No more FNU.

Anyway, been away from visajourney so long I don't remember how this works anymore. Here is the updated list for those interested. People, remember to update your timelines and do share your progress here to instill hope in others still waiting.

I had recently attended a USCIS discussion through my work and I raised a question about the long processing times for ROC (using a work opportunity to try and gain some insight) - I was able to speak to someone who advised me that my application was on track to be approved by November this year (lodged in CSC). I really wanted to know more about how their processing timeframes work because it seems to be all over the place. I was only told that they are moving toward a better and more accurate reporting system as the one in place now heavily relies on the USCIS adjuticating officer inputting data. That didn't really make sense to me because I almost thought that perhaps not ALL officers input application data which could explain why applications lodged ahead of ones showing on their case processing are being approved.

I was reminded that USCIS is completely applicant funded and so they run it like a business and are here to impove and provide better customer service. I think a lot can be said about that statement but, anyways.

If it helps, you can tell him that they've actually changed the wording on the newest batch of letters to make it more clear that the extension is a year from the date on the green card... obviously lots of people were confused so they've finally fixed the language to specify what they meant!  How long did it take them to finally make the change? (!):bonk: I'd attach the image that someone posted yesterday, but I don't remember which thread it was on. If I find it I'll post it!

Okay, this infuriating. I am so stressed right now. My husband called USCIS again today, actually spoke to Tier 2 this time, and they told him that it's the date on the letter that counts, not the one on the card. He mentioned the new version of the letter but they said that since he doesn't have that one, it doesn't apply to him. :ranting: I just tried to call to see if a second person will say the same thing, but I can't talk to anyone because I'm not the applicant. This is really starting to piss me off. The date on the letter is October 31. We STILL don't have internet at our new house after more than a month being there (long story). So we're going to have to drive somewhere to refresh the stupid USCIS office page to try to schedule the appointment at midnight, 3 a.m., God knows when. I want to scream.

To make matters worse, my husband was going to visit his family in Colombia and the trip was cancelled because of Hurricane Harvey (we're in Houston), and then again after he rescheduled because of Hurricane Irma (Miami connection). He doesn't even want to try to schedule his trip again now that this is going on. I also wonder how much of a mess our local USCIS office is post-Harvey. Ugh ugh ugh I can't wait until he's a citizen and we never have to deal with this ####### again. One day...

That is all. I will add myself to the list soon.

OMG! You're right, that IS infuriating. I almost wish they didn't have the (dis)information line for us to call, when the operators are so frequently wrong. Honestly, people on the USCIS line - if you don't know the answer, just SAY you don't know, instead of just flat making stuff up. Of course I guess "just making stuff up" is sort of the rule of the day in these parts!

I know Texas is a big state, but would it be possible to check for an appointment at another USCIS office? (Maybe you've already tried that.) Sometimes driving to the next city with an office will get you to one that's less busy.

If your husband has plans to travel overseas, it kind of becomes a moot point which date is correct. Most (not all, but most) offices will be reasonable about giving the stamp if you are going to be travelling and it might run out while you're out of the country.

I'm so sorry this has been so frustrating for you, and especially that the USCIS phone operator gave your husband the wrong information, and got him all worried again. Good luck! (and I hope you get the internet going at your house soon, too!)

That's messed up. For what it's worth: I asked the same question to a border control agent last week when flying into LAX from Japan. According to him the 1 year extension starts once the original Greencard is expired (even if the letter I showed him left some room for interpretation).

On a positive note: There seem to be some appointments available in San Antonio now on 10/3/2017. Better make sure you check that out.
