Correcting my previous post. For some reason I thought this was the Oct 2015 ROC.

You're still within normal processing time. VCS takes about a year.

God, your first post scared me to death. All good now. ☺️

Sorry...

I swore I was reading Oct 2015. You can breath easy. The luckiest (few) Oct 2016 filers may start getting word as early as late August. By mid September there should be a steady flow of (hopefully) approvals.

If you need to travel or need proof of status for any other reason you can schedule an InfoPass to get your passport stamped. Keep in mind they may only stamped your passport if your extended status is within 30 days of expiring.

Thank you!

Why are you anxious? The norm these days if for the process to take up to 12 months. So expecting anything to happen sooner than that, you're kind of stressing yourself out over nothing. Your file is literally just sitting in a pile, untouched. No amount of anxiety will change that. The only reason we're going through this process is because we have to prove that our marriages are genuine, and if it is, then you're pretty much golden.

If you go to USCIS.gov there's a button right on that page that says "check your case status". It's pretty straight forward from there. Although it's unlikely that your status will ever change, so don't be too disappointed if it's not updated at all. Mine has said something about a fee being waived since December.

The phone number for USCIS is 1-800-375-5283, but good luck getting someone on the other end who has any sort of clue what's going on. If you request to speak to someone in Tier 2, you may get more information. But the tier 1 agents, are basically useless.

This process is incredible long I am thinking to present the documents for getting the citizenship since I have to wait so long. My sister when through the same process in 2012 and she got her removing her conditions 4 months later I don't really understand why is taking so long. By the way does anyone got waive the bio-metric appointment? They sent me a letter telling me they are going to use my first bio-metrics and that was on November, since then I haven't heard from them

That's right.

And quite a few "concerned" CSC May filers waiting to be approved.

I think we're now looking at a minimum of 9-10 months for CSC filers as well. I'm definitely NOT holding my breath.

Are you still waiting on your documents? I am from Texas too and this waiting period is getting on my nerves :(

Yes, I am.

I keep following all threads from previous months, and most likely, we won't be seeing any approval for CSC before November (and this is being optimistic). If they keep going at the pace they're going, it'll take them even longer!

Hello all,

I have been reading this forum because my biometrics was completed in November and I have heard nothing. Does anyone know if they will extend your extension if it goes past a year? I have a job I require a license each year. My next renewal is coming up in the next couple of months, and I am starting to get concerned. I know it can take up to a year. However, like I said I have to renew this license in the coming months and without it, I will lose my job.

Anyone who traveled international with the extension letter?

Just wanna share my experience:

I decided to go to get a stamp in my new passport in February prior to traveling to Denmark. The lady in the NYC office said it wasn't neccesary with the extension letter, however I got it. She also told me to go ahead and apply for citizenship even if my ROC was still pending.

Anyways, I traveled and upon arriving back in JFK, with the stamp in my new passport and the extension letter I still was asked to step aside for further investigation. It added 20 minute to my wait, and they did approve the papers but just an annoyance after 15 hrs travelign with a baby.

AOS from F-1, maintaining status

August 2010 was introduced to each other during a visit in NY.
01/14/2012: Arrived at JFK with F-1 visa with the intention of studying for three years, and then do OPT. Intention was not to get married!
Yet, almost five semesters as a full-time international student later he proposed ...

04/07/2014: Married in Queens, NY

06/26/2014: I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131 and supporting documents sent to Chicago Lockbox via USPS Priority.

06/30/2014: USPS states delivery happened 6:50 am.

07/07/2014: Received NOA of I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765 dated 07/02. --- What a great 3-month anniversary gift!

07/15/2014: Received Biometrics appointment scheduled 07/31, in Long Island City.

07/31/2014: Biometrics done. Process took 45 minutes. 99% was waiting time. Awesome people working there. Good experience!

08/06/2014: Case i-485 updated to Testing & Interview on uscis.gov - - Yay!

08/29/2014: Updates on I-765, card in production as well as I-131.

09/04/2014: Update on I-485, interview scheduled for October 10th, 2014.
09/08/2014: Received combo-card. Went straight to Social Security office to get SSN.
09/15/2014: Received Social security card in mail.
10/10/2014: Interview at Long Island City. Took no more than 10 minutes. Was simple, normal questions. Was approved on spot.

ROC

10/07/2016: USPS stated I-751 was delivered. Also sent in fee waiver request.
10/19/2016: Got everything back, with denied fee waiver. They misspelled my name. Makes me wonder if they even read my application. My name is all over the papers.
10/25/2016: Sent in ROC (I-751) again, with USPS.

10/29/2016: I-751 delivered again.
11/2/2016: Checks cashed
12/16/2016: Biometrics done in LIC, Queens.

You don't get another letter. Hopefully you will be approved before travel. If not you will need to make an appointment to have an i551 stamp put in your passport.  You would need to go online book an appointment with your local field office. Normally best to do this around midnight, when appointments are up dated. I should imagine your case might be sorted out before December but who knows given the slowness of everything.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

 Hi Eric & Idalia,

I'm sorry that this happened to you - it's kind of a pain. The green card holder needs to call the USCIS line, tell them what happened, and the representative can fix it in their system. Unfortunately, they won't give you a new letter - I was told I would need to get the I551 stamp (which we haven't done yet). When my husband went for his biometrics, he confirmed that his name had been fixed in their system. Good luck!

I called today. A representative created a service request and told me to wait 30 to 45 days. Also wait for the biometric notice that after that my information would be on their system. It wasn't like a big mistake, but still.

Thank you!
