Hey Everyone, I happened to check my informed delivery today and noticed I have a package coming from USCIS In Kentucky. Needless to say I just checked the mail and my 10 yr green card was in it.

I finally got my biometrics letter! I checked my status online and I'm confused.

It says "On October 7, 2016, we received your case and waived the filing fee for your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number XXX. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

I didn't request to waive the fees and my check was cashed??? Are they giving me my money back???

i got mine today and it says the same thing. i know this is so confusing . Becauase i didnt request for waiiving fee and they also cashed the check! Simply I have no idea about whats going on too. I guess we will find out in time , if there is nobody who can explain it to us around here.

Apparently it is not a big deal.

The first NOA1 you get states that you are allowed to work and travel for the year starting on the day of the notice I guess. After the letter expires you can get stamps in your passport at your local field office to allow you to work.

While application is in progress, do we get anything like a EAD card with 1year validity (so I can show it as work permit past the gc expiry) ?

A quick update regarding my earlier post & a question!

We were finally able to get on the phone with someone to correct for my husband's name - half way through the call, we also realized that the zip code on our address was incorrect, as well!

After (hopefully) getting everything fixed, we asked if we would be getting a new I-797, but we were told no and that we would have to get my husband's passport stamped at their local office.

Does anyone know exactly what she would mean by "local office"? Our local USCIS office? Possibly the local office where we will get his biometrics done?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
