Hi all,

New here to the forums.

I am American and my Husband is Canadian. He is currently stuck up in Vancouver while we complete our paperwork & get a K3. I believe we will be having an interview at the Vancouver Consulate.

I filed everything myself & have gotten the I-129, I-130 approved.

:help:

Now I am working on the DS-230 Part I & II - Am I correct in that I should submit both of these together but not sign the Part II?

Next question, once these are submitted, I understand that my husband needs to collect his list of documents (Passport, medical exam, etc) based on Requirements for K3 & prior to interview. Once he completes these & submits along with checklist to the Vancouver office - does anyone know how long it will take to get an interview?

I want to be able to go up to Canada for the interview but hard to plan when you have no clue of the timeline - does anyone have any experience with this office? Do I need to be present for the interview?

Thank you so much for any guidance on these last couple of things!

......come by the Canada forum and have a look around Tina.

Vancouver has been rather quick at scheduling interviews once your DS-230 and checklist are returned. Have a look also at the top of this page at the immigration timeline. Filter for Canada and you will see a sample of how Vancouver does business.

I wanna say that I dont think you require DS-230 part 2 for the K-3. The checklist can be returned right away as long as youre not waiting on documents that take awhile to obtain, not to mention Vancouver is pretty reasonable with allowing you to request specific dates for interview.

Good Luck

That is interesting question about DS 230 part II, on site of Rio Consulate (Brazil) they wrote you can send part II no sign, but in the package4 I received it says I must to take the part II at the same day of interview!!!! then i sent the part I (signed) together with part II (no sign) and of course I will take one form in blank on the interview date. Certainly when the consulate receive your DS-230. I sent my DS-230 on 21th march and I received the package 4 with a interview letter in 23th march, I think in Canada things work so fast.

Good luck
