Green card filing fee and SSN for entry.

I wish to pay for my green card fee before I enter the states, so do I pay for it at the consulate after I get approve from the interview? Or do I have to fill out a form while taking care of the NVC packet?

Also, I've read about requiring a SSN before I enter the states in the forum, but I also read from other website that I can obtain it 10 days after I enter, so what should I do??

You can pay for your green card fee online after you have already been approved. You can't obtain a SSN until you arrive in the US. Please refer to dwheels76 post: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/611768-case-complete-to-interview-november-2016/
