Just tried to call NVC and they have closed their phone lines due to high volume. You can't even sit on hold listening to that terrible music.

That's so funny because I actually say the same to myself about that terrible music each time I call. Fortunately, for the 3 times I have already called, I've never had more than a 5 minute wait. Try calling first thing in the morning.

That music! The other day at work I found myself humming that awful music because I'd been on hold with NVC so long it was stuck in my head. I must be crazy.

I'm too impatient to wait till the morning :(

Hahaha, It still gets me every time when the music stops and it goes back to the loop of the man saying that all of the lines are busy. I always jump and suddenly think someone's about to answer. I feel like it's too early for me to start calling, as it's only just been 2 weeks, but what exactly are you going to ask them? Just has somebody reviewed the documents yet?

Yes, it's been over 30 days for us so I want to prod them. I'm hoping that the person who answers my call thinks "poor girl has been waiting over a month. Let me push hers to the top of the list to be done" or something. I don't know. Just starting to feel very frustrated now.

Sounds like a good idea! Let me know if they are nice when you ask about it...if they are, I might start calling them too when we reach a month!

You can use the I-864EZ only if there is only one immigrant coming to the USA and you are not using a joint sponsor. So if it's just your wife and you are using your income only (if you make enough to cover the household size) then you can use this form. Otherwise it's an I-864 that you need.

There are certain criterias that has to be met to use EZ. If you r not using a joint sponsor and solely your wifes salary to meet the poverty guidelines then u can make use of that. Pls double check the criteria set for EZ form.if not all is met then i864.

So I came home to a i-797 in the mail and it says the above petition has been approved the person this petition is for will be notified separately when a decision is reached on his or her pending adjustment of status application

This doesn't say anything about sending it to the National visa center

Got through to NVC finally. But got the usual "high volume, six weeks" line.

Adjustment of status? Is your husband currently in the US?

Thank you..any idea why the form I-864EZ doesnt have bare code on buttom or each page like the form I-864 ?

According to this, the bar codes at the bottom are only used on the high volume forms (presumably the technology needed to read them is very expensive so not cost-effective for forms like I-864EZ, which is not used anywhere near as much as I-864).
