Thank you, that's very kind of you. Sadly no news. Just woken my husband up with a phone call to tell him I can't stand the waiting anymore. First 164 days at Nebraska and now this. Don't they know they are dealing with the most impatient woman on the planet?

I'm sorry to read you JFH I know how it feels. I hope you get your cc soon. I spent 196 days at Nebraska and I waited 10 weeks on my first scan date only to get a checklist for a document that we already sent them. After that we spent another 6 weeks on NVC and now we have almost a month waiting for our interview date. I felt very frustrated and depressed because is hard to understand that everything happens for a reason "as my husband says". I'm really sure you're gonna have your CC soon, we are sending you a lot of blessings and good wishes, I feel everybody here like a family even if we don't know our faces and I feel happy or sad when something happens to our members. I send you a big bear hug ?

Thank you for this encouraging words. Even though it was meant for JFH, it has cheered me up too.

First scan date was July 13th.

Second scan date/supervisor review was September 2nd. We havent gotten any checklists or any feedback. Just the same old song" we are still reviewing your case".

I've been following other folks' stories & case progress on VisaJourney for a while now, but this is my first post. I submitted AOS/IV packages to the NVC for my wife and stepson in September, and got a scan date of September 14th. They are assigned separate (but sequential) NVC case numbers. I called on Tuesday of this week to check the case progress and they told me to wait another 1-2 weeks due to the high volume of mail they've been receiving (I wasn't surprised to hear this because I've been watching this thread).

Then, yesterday I received a "NVC Notice of Missing Item" email stating that I did not send an AOS and/or supporting financial documents with my stepson's application. No word yet on my wife's. Based on my own interpretation of the information on the NVC website and other VisaJourney threads, I thought that I only had to fill out and send *one* AOS, with my wife's application that would also cover my stepson. Meaning, I did only fill out & sign *one* i-864 and attached all of the supporting documentation (AOS package) and included it in the same envelope that I mailed to the NVC containing separate IV packages for both my wife & stepson.

I called the NVC this morning and the agent told me that I need to send another AOS package for my stepson's application because they have separate case numbers. However I did only need to pay one AOS fee for both. Does this sound right? I hate to think I have to wait another 6 weeks for approval of his case :(.

A related question - will my wife's IV/AOS packages continue towards approval/Case Complete without my stepson's? Will we be able to schedule the interview in the meantime and hopefully we'll get CC on his application before the interview date?

You need to fill out two separate i-864 forms since they are two separate cases. It's a hassle, but that's how it is unfortunately; so I suggest sending that out as soon as you can. And yes, your wife's case will continue towards a CC. If your wife receives a CC and interview date before your stepson does, you can ask to expedite your stepson's case so that they can interview together.
