If you received your case number today just wait for little bit before you fill out choice of agent. Once you receive welcome email from NVC your AOS fees will be unlocked. You should receive an email withing 48 hours.

Just a short note, yesterday (about 4:30 PM) I checked my CEAC page, which showed only 2 N/As.

Checked again at 12:30 AM, and there it was, the last (3rd) N/A.

Called NVC, they verified it.

Scan date at NVC was August 30, 2016...5 weeks ago to the day.

Congratulations! I'm hoping to be this week too. We are September 1 scan date.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Just wanted to ask - was that 12.30 am Spanish time or Eastern?

Just wanted to ask - was that 12.30 am Spanish time or Eastern?

JFH, no I converted the Spanish to US EST, so, though I checked at 10:30 PM (yesterday) and again the next day 6:30 AM (today) Spanish time, that translates to 4:30 PM US EST and 12:30 AM US EST.

What I thought was interesting was that from what I understood, the NVC people (the ones who ACTUALLY make decisions, not the ones who just answer the phone) work 8 AM to 5 PM M-F. So for me to see 2 N/As at 4:30 PM, and then the 3 N/As at 12:30 AM was pretty surprising. Unless whoever decided the case was complete did it just before he left work at 5 PM.

Anyway I am happy.

Quick Question to you guys that were Approved !

What does your case Status on USCIS say?

I assume you are talking about I-130 approval at USCIS phase.

My USCIS case status says:

On September 19, 2016, we approved your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number SRCXXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

No updates on USCIS since then.

Hard copy NOA2 says approved and we have sent the original visa petition to NVC.

Called NVC yesterday and they still have not received it. Gave the usual "it can take up to 6 weeks to receive" script.

Your USCIS status will change to "Sent to the Department of State" when they send it on. My case was approved on August 30. It wasn't until Sept. 22 that my status changed. NVC confirmed they received it on the 27th. Some cases move quickly, others take a little time.

I've read here on VJ that you don't always get a USCIS status update.

You should get that update, but you won't get any others after that. I received both a text and update on the app when it was sent to the NVC.

It's so funny I asked them how often they send files to Nvc.. My local office said they send them everyday... Why would it take so long.. Is DHL walking with it

In our case I asked the man from the other line if I should call back in 2 weeks time, he was nice enough to tell me, "no, you can call again next time around the same day" :)

I've read here on VJ that you don't always get a USCIS status update.

That's what I thought too that's why 2 weeks after our petition got approved we started calling NVC to check if they received our case but we just always get the same answer that it could take up to 6 weeks until 1 month later after the approval date we received another notice that our case was forwarded to the NVC. So around 4 days from that day we finally got the most awaited confirmation that theyes finally received our case.
