according to montreal's website, they ARE closed good friday before easter and monday following easter sunday

http://ottawa.usembassy.gov/content/conten...cument=holidays

canada post is also closed both days (except for some private sectors, whatever those are)

BUUUUUUT, is canada post delivering saturday? lol

maybe if my husband and i can sweet talk them they can send it thursday the 5th (day of our interview)?

and even if they offered it for some emergency, we cant go back the next day to pick it up cause they're closed.

i've seen some of you here who've managed to get it the same day somehow, even though i thought they didnt do that anymore. what is your secret, lol. can i use the holiday in my favor... talk about how i was hoping to see family and stuff? or do they simply not give a shizznizz? hah

cause otherwise, they will probably send it out end of that week since they're getting lazy, and i'd end up waiting a week and a half longer.

thanks.

I got same problem as you.

My interview is on the 4th. Sometimes they ship visa 2 days after which gets me to the 10th...

My fiance was supposed to come from Chicago on the 12th but it looks like I wont have it by then and I might have to push my trip 1 week later, which sucks cause then I will miss his son's birthday and the moving into our appartment..... :crying:

Im crossing my fingers, but I seriously think that its not gonna change them anything, rules are rules.

Good luck on the receiving of your visa as well!

Canada Post doesn't have mail delivery on Saturdays...at least not in Quebec, they don't.

Nor the rest of canada. One can always aks for the visa early, throw in a few tears (no bomb threats though), al they can do is say (or laugh) no. Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

are you guys saying canada post isnt open at all saturdays where you live, or they are but just no delivery? i've never really paid attention to which days things came before. their site offers some hope, though, hehe. i'm going to call their customer service line tomorrow

i really wanted to be back that weekend, too. since mine's on thursday, doesnt really matter even if they send it next day, cause next business day is the following tuesday :/ i checked canada post, there's one next to the consulate that's not open weekends and one that is, so i guess it's safe to say they seem to be going to the first one. i guess considering how much time most of us have been waiting, that a few extra days isn't so bad. it's just disappointing cause we had plans :/ the main thing to focus on should be that it could've always been even later, and that our interview has finally come :)

good luck :)

unless things have changed since I moved, no postal outlets are open on Saturday, with the exception of outlets that are part of other stores (like Shoppers Drug Marts), and definitely no delivery. Made for a nice surprise when I moved here to the US.
