My ROC case was received last year Nov 2, 2015. It has been a long wait for me and my husband, today I called USCIS because it's almost 11months process, they told me that according to the computer I got DENIED last month (August) which I didn't know bec I check my status online everyday and it still says

"On November 2, 2015, we received your Form CRI-89 bla bla bla"

We didn't receive any RFE, or anything.

I asked her question why I got denied? what should I do next? But she seems to not know anything.

Anybody here know what should I do?

Get a lawyer for sure . Something is up. They do t deny cases just like that , normally they would ask for ROC and if thats not enough then you would be scheduled for an interview , without further details we cannot give and bettee ansnwer

Did you speak to a tier 1 or tier 2? Tier 1 people on the phone are not the most helpful lot. USCIS doesn't deny applicants without giving them a chance via an RFE and/or interview. In your case, it sounds like you're still married too? So there's no reason for a detail. I remember you changed addresses. Based on just the information you provided, I suspect one of two scenarios: either you got wrong information from the person on the phone or you were sent an RFE and/or interview notice(s) on your old address and since you didn't respond to those (since you didn't receive them), they denied your case.

I would suggest the following:

1) Call USCIS customer service once again and insist on speaking to a tier 2 officer

2) Keep looking for the closest InfoPass appointment date. They can be hard to find so look at odd hours, if you have to.

3) If you have any way of contacting the current tenants or landlord of your previous address, contact and ask if they are aware of having received USCIS mail addressed to you. This is a long shot but if you can, why not?

ROC denials are rare, automatic denials are extremely rare, as others pointed out you probably failed to respond to a communication (possibly RFE) in a timely manner. start talking to a Tier 2 first.

Have you filled AR-11 when you changed your address? If you did it online, they should've given you a receipt number that starts with COAxxx . Keep that number number handy when you talk to them.

It is a possible variant but wouldn't interview appt. or RFE be reflected at online status? If it still says "On November 2, 2015, we received your Form CRI-89... I would think there was no action from USCIS side unless there is some glitch and status didn't get updated since NOA1.

We never received online notification for the interview, just a letter in the mail.

We also did not receive RFE notification and to this day it is stuck on RFE response received from June 2015 !

16 months no update.

Infopass appointments in the Santa Ana office are available in about a week when you schedule, so if the LA office takes longer, you can probably go to Santa Ana.

Hubby's Timeline:

January 19, 2013 - Sent I-130

January 23, 2013 - Priority DateJuly 2013 - Approved but ineligible to adjust

March 8, 2016-sent AOS packet ( I-485, I-131, I-765)

March 10 - lockbox received packet

March 17 - notifications received

March 21 - received hardcopies of NOAs

April 1 - received biometrics appointment

April 11 - Biometrics at Buena Park

May 6 - received hardcopy of I-131 approval dated May 2

May 11 - received texts/email - AP Approved, EAD card is being produced (ordered card production April 30)

May 27 - called USCIS tier 2 - service request to reproduce crooked card that was not sent

June 8 - received texts/email/update - EAD card being mailed

June 11 - received EAD/AP combo card

August 23 - Interview is scheduled for Sept. 28

Sept 28 - AOS approved

Turned out they Sent an RFE May 26th on our new address and we never got it. It was stated "Undeliverable" so we never got it. But we called May 27th and they said no update yet and told us to call back 15 days later, so we did call back June 13th and they said that the process is really taking long for them and that they are behind with the processing times, they never mentioned to us that they sent an RFE, they even told us that "that is why we give 1 year extension because it make take that long, so the best thing to do is just wait" So when I called again this last Sept 28th. that's when they said I was denied, and they never told me any reason (they didn't mention that there was RFE sent) I just found out when the letter arrived yesterday. We already scheduled and infopass and we are going today to see if they can let us in today even though our schedule is on Oct 14th. They couldn't help us today bec the appointments are full but they did scheduled us for an earlier appointment for Tue next week, and they said it could be fixable and not to worry too much

Journey to citizenship now. Finally the last one!

Interview was easy. My hubby's Oath Ceremony is scheduled for February 25th. I can't watch >sad< but happy he is getting his certificate!
