I am of the understanding that an interview is NOT required for the 2 year GC...and it may or may not be required for the 10 year.

It is up to USCIS to decide if they will interview you for the 2 year conditional card, they will give you an appointment to visit your local CIS office.

When Lifting conditions again they may or may not interview you.

It's on a case-by-case basis. Some people did not require an interview to get their 2-year GC. Others did and still are waiting for it (because of FBI name check hold-ups). I don't know about 10 years because, well, that's so far down the line that I have no idea about that!

Basically, you'll find out when get a letter one way or the other.

First time applicants for AOS are usually called for interview. The past year some applications were transferred to the California Service Center and were approved without interview. Very recently, some of those transferred to CSC were moved back to the district offices and called for interviews.

For removal of conditions (I-751), there are some who will be called for interview, either because of suspicion of fraud or to satisfy "sampling" requirements.

Until fairly recently an interview was always required for adjustment of status. Presently most adjustment cases still require an interview.

Interviews are rare for removal of conditions.
