Added note: If there are small :oops: in the DS-160 the CO can correct them during the interview.

Yes I know. Still on page 37 of the DS-160 it does ask about other names used. AKA may have been a wrong term but for her situation use her name as shown in the passport and on page 37 list other name used.

Yes it should be your mother's maiden name, from PSA :

CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage)

  • Complete name of the person
  • Complete name of the father
  • Complete maiden name of the mother
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Complete name and address of the requesting party
  • Number of copies needed
  • Purpose of the certification

My suggestion - if you do not have the new CENOMAR before the interview, bring what you have, if the CO during the interview wants a new one they will issue a 221g (usually is emailed to you) to request the new CENOMAR, simply print out a copy of the 221g and take it to PSA, they will send the CENOMAR you recently requested to the embassy, nothing to stress about, everything will be fine. :)

If you were issued a 221g that means you're case will be under AP right?

Greenbaum your right, other names used is only for daily basis, i cant ud my middile initial there it cause error so i jkust need o leave it blank. :)

If you were issued a 221g that means you're case will be under AP right?

Yes if issued a 221g your application is in AP until that is resolved
