I've received an I-797 Notice of Action. I have been approved, and the notice indicates that my petition will be forwarded to the NVC. Does the USCIS send you another notice in the mail indicating that they have sent your petition forward or not, or is the I-797 it?

The I-797 is it. Next you should receive the card in the mail (and if you signed up for notifications you should receive one saying that the card is being produced and then another that the card has been mailed). Congrats! :dancing:

I didn't sign up for the notification, because I didn't even notice there one! ha, that's why some others say they received a card and some didn't.

What card are you talking about? OP just got NOA2 for her CR-1/IR-1. She's entering the NVC phase.

Oh!

OP, is that true? The approval was for the I-130 and not the green card (GC) approval? What I stated was for the final approval! Ignore if I am mistaken.

There is no card at this stage. The USCIS case tracker should update to "sent to department of state". NVC will send you a welcome letter at some point but to cut down on the waiting you can wait two weeks and call NVC and ask if they have received your case. If they have your case, ask for your Invoice ID and your case number. You will need those to log on the the CEAC site, fill out forms and pay fees. The NVC wiki gives you all the information step by step. It's pretty good.

It will help you save time and help you to not make any mistakes if you follow it exactly. It also contains the number for NVC pretty much everything you need right now is there.

  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:
