Hi all,

My fiancé and I had our interview this past Wednesday and we were approved! I just checked our status and we are at Administrative Processing. Should I be concerned or do all visas go through some sort of AP? I'm freaking out a little because we haven't received anything about missing documents or something being wrong.

Thanks!

Hey!

We went to the same consulate at the same time on the same day for our interview! I don't think you need to worry, as mine is in the exact same status as yours right now. From what I've been told, it will go between "Ready" and "AP" a few times, until it's finally switched over to "Issued"!

Hoping for issued sooner than later...

Hey! Sorry that I can't offer much help and that I'm basically intruding on your post but I was also there Wednesday morning.

Do you check your status on: ais.usvisa-info.com?

Mine still says current status: appointment

Good luck guys :) it's almost over!

Edit:

Well to answer my own question.. haha I just checked on ceac.state.gov and mine also says Administrative Processing

Fantastic! Good to know, friends! I was freaking out for a bit because I thought maybe we were placed into AP for a reason.

Also, zilchfox, my fiancé and I think we saw you in the waiting room! We were debating who you were haha. We were the couple in the 3rd row back from the front.

All k1 in Canada go through AP for a period of time.

Niki is this something new? When I went through my K1 interview back in 2012 I was approved right at the consulate and got my passport and visa within 3 days of my interview.

Sounds like luck of the draw. It seems it's usually 1-2 weeks for most.

Since about 2014 K1 generally go into AP for a week or two. I think gone are the days of next day passports like mine for IR1/CR1 too. I haven't seen anyone faster than a few days-week+ for those in a year or more.

Grats on your citizenship btw. I'm still putting mine off. LOL

I feel bad for any new K1 applicants that they have to wait that much longer. I guess that we were lucky that we went thru the process when we did.

Aw thanks so much. The citizenship application/civics test and interview was the easiest out of the whole process. I was in and out of the interview office within 15 minutes and was told by the IO right after my interview that he was approving my N400 application.
