In an upcoming Frontline special, Omarosa Manigault told PBS that the roots of Trumps presidential campaign may be traced back to the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner, when President Barack Obama cracked a few jokes at the real estate moguls expense. The quips came after Trump falsely accused Obama of lying about his birthplace and citizenship, thus feeding the discredited right-wing birther conspiracy theory.

It just kept going and going and he just kept hammering him, Manigault said. And I thought, Ohhhh, Barack Obama is starting something that I dont know if hell be able to finish.

She said:

Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump. Its everyone whos ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.

Manigault made her name as the villain on the first season of Trumps Apprentice reality TV series, but in the clip released online, she sounds a little more like General Zod, the villain in Superman II.

Ah, so that is what the Make America Great spectacle is all about? Revenge? I mean let’s face it, Trump deserved the ribbing at the 2011 Correspondents Dinner. Just prior, Obama releases his long form certificate and this still wasn’t good enough for Trump (or the other birthers for that matter) who next went on about wanting to see Obama’s college transcripts.

Trump just wouldn’t let it go.

Now the Frontline special preview leaves me thinking this Trump guy just can’t handle being put down by an African-American on T.V., that he lost too much face that night (at the 2011 WH Correspondents Dinner) and this whole Make America Great sham is just a vehicle to trash Obama on the news media almost every day as a benefit of running for president. I was wondering why Trump was blaming (mostly wrongly) Obama for every ailment in America since the Revolution. He doesn’t give a krap about America; the campaign, it’s all about him and mending his pride.

So now it’s more clear, he’s just too embarrassed to have been put down by an African-American and he’s dragging us all along on his campaign of retribution so in his little mind he can pretend that he isn’t the jerk he really is. And the hate lovers are eating it up with a fervor that I think is shocking even to Trump. So what happens if he wins? Are we going to be have to listen to his obsession laden anti-Obama rants from the Oval Office for the next four years? Give me a break. We deserve better than this.
