just wanted to give everybody a heads up on a situation we just encountered. my husband had interview on March 6, 2007 in Amman and was told up to one week for visa. Well 3 weeks later, no visa. we made several phone calls and emails to embassy and kept being told to call Aramex. Well my husband went directly to embassy today and they never mailed it out!!! well it is all water under the bridge now ( AT LEAST HE GOT HIS VISA TODAY AND COMING HOME NOW!!) but a lesson learned if more than a week goes by and your spouse/fiance has not received their visa yet, go directly to the embassy cuz more than likely it is still sitting on their desk!

Congratulations Maureen and Malek! :dance::dance:

Whew! That was a close call and I know your emotions were going wild with all this back and forth with no real answer nor solution. Alhamdullilah! It's over now and your husband is on his way home. OUR INTERVIEW IS IN 3 WEEKS, APRIL 18TH. PLEASE TELL ME, HOW WE CAN AVOID A SIMILAR CONFUSION. DO THEY MAIL THE PASSPORT/VISA BY ARAMEX AFTER THE INTERVIEW? ALSO, I WANT TO BE SURE WE HAVE EVERYTHING IN GOOD ORDER FOR THE INTERVIEW. HOW DID YOUR HUSBAND SUBMIT HIS DOCUMENTS AT THE INTERVIEW? DID HE USE A 3-RING BINDER, OR WHAT METHOD TO MAKE IT QUICK AND EASY? ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE WOULD SINCERELY BE APPRECIATED. MUCH HAPPINESS TO YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND - WISHING THE BEST IN LIFE FOR YOU.....

i wish u the best! i believe somewhere on that checklist it does show which documents to have in order so read that over and over. the night before the inteview will be the longest night of your life..lol- i didnt call a call from malek until about 530 am eastern time. he was up there at 8 and not interviewed until about 12pm. lots of waiting! just make sure all his forms are current when he goes to interview, they made malek redo the forms they sent to him. good luck to you both

Hi Maureen,

My name is Nadia, and my husband had his interview in Amman on March20th. He didn't have a police certificate, so we had to resend it with his passport via aramex. Last week they resent it saying we were missing the I-134. So i've resent all that and they should've received it yesterday. I heard that they send the passports to Washington DC to be stamped with the Visa there, is that true? And did they mention to your husband anything about an additional investigation that could take up to 8 weeks? Because the consular officer that interviewed my husband said that it takes about 10 business days, and in the unlikely event of the 8 week thing he would be here before i gave birth. I hope it goes as smoothly as your husbands did! Wish me luck.

Thank You,

Nadia
