Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has been in the same boat as me, my partner who is a U.S. Citizen and a resident of Australia is living here with me in Brisbane and has done for the last 2 years. We wanted to start our relationship in Australia to earn good money and save to go back to the U.S. to be with my partners family. The time has come now to file the petition. Just wondering if anyone has been in the same position as us and how the process went?

Also, roughly how long is the wait until the approval at the moment? My attorney in the US said roughly 3-4 months right now with the upcoming election slowing things down.

july filers are taking about 50 something days august filers taking 40 something days on average from what ive seen currently may change by the time you file
