I know there are a lot of questions about the address, but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

We are about to file for the I-129F.

Our landlady keeps on telling us that she might need us to move out soon, and that she would give us a 30 day warning.

So we have no idea where we'll be living in over a month.

I know you can make an address change online. But I was wondering if instead we could ask the USCIS to send things at my boyfriend's work address (that one is not likely to change). Is it possible?

If so, how do we do it? Do we need to make a special letter asking them to send things there and the reasons? Put the work address in the forms?

If anyone knows it would be of great help.

Thank you

The top address block is what will be used as a mailing address, it does not have to be the place of residence. It is an address you wish to be noted in the system as the mailing address.

From USCIS General Tips on Assembling Applications for Mailing

The address block on the forms is the data field captured for all of our mailings. Consistent with the limitations on the number of characters per line (a maximum of 32) and the total numbers of lines (4) in that field, whatever is in the block will become the mailing address used by the system. The data in these fields is entered exactly as indicated on the forms. Please include internal routing symbols in the address block, especially for large organizations. It is better to abbreviate the name of the organization and have space for the routing codes than to fully spell out the name and have notices sit in the organization's mailroom.

I feel stupid... I can't figure where the 'top address block' is on the I-129F or the G-325a form are...

Would someone mind telling me what part and/or number it is? Unless it just means that its the address block on the other documents (aka cover letter, intent of getting married, etc.)

Can the USCIS correspondance be forwarded?

The top address block, the first place the forms ask for an address. This is the address they will use to put in their system as a mailing address.

You can definetly use another address if your current home address may be changing. Work address if the workplace is ok with receiving mail for its employees, or you could also go to the post office and rent a PO box.

Thank you AussieWench for that USCIS link about the "address blocks." Although I've read it a couple tmes before I finally had a moment of clarity this time! :goofy: Now, if we actually use a P.O. box in the address form on the I-129 F do I have to add an attachment stating the reasons? (I've read this in previous questions on visajourney. com) Is an explanation needed?

Thanks!
