Filed i-130 for my mother and got the NOA1. While going through the process, there is a step where we are choosing agent and address to represent the beneficiary. Couple of questions-

Does it add delay for having a foreign address for communication? Heard almost all the processing is online with NVC.

Does the agent(US Citizen) get to accompany beneficiary for the interview at the consulate due to language barrier?

Thanks

You can select the foreign beneficiary as the agent (we did). We also provided email addresses and all communication from NVC is through email.

Regarding the interview, the rules vary from one embassy to another so you would need to check the website of the embassy where your mother will be interviewing to see what the situation is. In any event, there is always someone at the embassy that speaks the local language - they live in the country after all.

Thanks for a quick response. Does choosing foreign address add delays to the process? Our petitioner is in US. What are the steps where snail mail/courier is involved in communication with NVC(both ways)?

It shouldn't delay the process. NVC will communicate via email once you give them your email address.
