I have a question about the affidavit of support, i prepared 3 years of the 1040 & w2, and my question is can i photocopy just the first & second page of each year or the whole thing? Because its kinda thick if i photocopy the whole thing.

If your referring to the irs1040 no. They require the entire 1040 that you submitted for your taxes. You can send them tax transmittals which cuts down on the number of copies. Google for the location for irs tax transmittals and have them sent to you. No charge.

BTW I said the transmittal would cut "down on the number of copies", what I meant to say was the number of pages. Three copies are still required.

You need to provide one copy of your most recent 1040 and W-2. The 1040 must be complete.

An alternative to that is to provide one copy of your most recent tax transcript. You can get your tax transcript from the IRS.

I have no idea why Greenbaum is advising to send "tax transmittals" as they don't remotely apply here. Also, you won't need three copies, only one.

Thank you for the correction Tahoma. Of course I meant transcripts but I guess sometimes that's hard discern. Yes one years worth of documentary evidence is all you need fo the AOS.

Yes they are going to their interview, but I was answering their statement about the "question about the affidavit of support" for the interview. Read the post you'll have better understanding of the contents of their question.

And therein lies the problem when using acronyms which have multiple meanings.
