So as mentioned in a previous post USCIS sent my dad his green card after my parents interview. but my moms is held up in some sort of back ground check. I called tier 2 a couple of says ago and they put "an inquiry" on how long it would take to complete. We received this letter in the mail today.. Any body else have this happen?any idea what it means, or how long it takes? is this a different type of background check than they did on my dad? It seems like it is sort of auto generated the letter, It doesn't seem like any one actually looked at the file but I am not positive.

How long ago did she apply? (This question was asked but never answered on the other thread)

How long ago did your father receive his GC?

It looks like she'll have to wait the 60-90 days for a response.

they both applied in early April, my father received his green card 5 days after the interview(2.5 weeks ago)

When I read that letter it seems to imply that there is no time frame, just that in 60/90 days we can call uscis.

My other questions I hope some one can answer. Is this a different type of background check since they dont have her fingerprints? Also is there a way to get them to send her for bio metrics again so its faster?

I only know of checking via the biometrics. Also is there a way to get them to send her for bio metrics again so its faster? I'm not sure. I would have her call, insist on being transfered to a Tier 2 person who can actually view the stats of the case. While 2.5 weeks is not that long of a time, I would still be concerned.

Situation resolved, so thread is closed.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
