Made a mistake on application - got RFE

I marked my husband as single instead of married by mistake. I receive an RFE from USCIS wanting g and explaination as to why I marked him single.

Well..... because I was 9 months pregnant at the time and in the hospital passing kidney stones.

How do I explain it? Just write a letter telling them it was a mistake that we are still married?

Its a mistake tell them that.

I wrote 5 for the month of April....dont feel bad it happens

Just say it was an error while filing out the form and that you two are indeed married.

Pretty much. Send a copy of the marriage certificate to go with the letter.

No they never caught it because it was for a K1

The embassy stage did they just asked me ?? And i let them know i made a typo.

Just send them your profile picture, and tell them what you told us...you were 9 months pregnant and passing kidney stones when you filled out the paperwork, and were a little distracted.... Apologize profusely and ask them to understand.

There's quite some difference from OP's mistake and you messing up one month, to be honest.

I didn't. Not that I didn't acknowledge my own clerical mistake; the instructions to fix an error on the EAD card didn't indicate a fee.

For Green Card tho, I-90 replacement comes with a $365 fee if it's petitioner/beneficiary's fault. No fee if it's USCIS/DHS fault.

For OP's case RFE is the opportunity to explain her own clerical mistake and attach some documentary evidence.

That's good to know. I thought it would have been the same as the GC replacement free. Guess not!
