original birth certificate for petition from US?

Hello everyone. I am in a big situation. please help as I n don't want to lose my only legit proof of having a father.

after 27 yrs i found my father and he is a citizen in States(as what he says)..he wants me to send him my original birth certificate but i am hesitating..the point he actually abandoned and separated from my mom and me 25 yrs ago as he cheated on my mom.he is married to the same girl and has 20 yr old son.the point is i know other woman controls him, as these 25 yrs she cut all his communication from us...and my birth certificate is the only proof that he is my father.does the petition filed from US for bringing your daughter or son to US needs original birth certificate to be submitted by the sponsor/petitioner?..please guide 1f622.png

No You dont need the Original Birth Certificate to File, you only need it when you goto face to face interview in consulate.

It is a sad story. It is a good thing that he wants to make petition for you.

You only need original when going to interview for I migrant visa. Make a color copy and send it to him.

You will also have to sign one form G-325. This is the type of form he will use to make a petition for you I-130 and the link to instructions and forms
