Pre-Interview Jitters!

Anyone else have the pre-interview jitters? I picked up my medical results from Medisys today and my interview is on Monday.

I don't know why, but I ended up looking up refusals/denials from interviews at Montreal on the VJ forums and now I am all worried!

Mainly because my husband has been here with me since we got married, the intent was for him to immigrate to Canada, but we had the misfortune of losing my mother suddenly to cancer VERY shortly after we got married - therefore I had no reason to stay in Canada anymore and I started my application to immigrate to the US.

My husband (USC) always remained on a visitor visa in Canada and didn't establish permanent residency here.

Our main concerns is proof of domicile and intent to return

I have proof such as his bills he still pays in the US (car, car insurance, student loans)

He has is car insurance with his parents address

Retirement fund is still open

2 letters from his past employers saying they would hire him back in a heartbeat

a letter from his dad (my financial co-sponsor) saying we will stay with him at his residence.

His US driver's license

Kept his US phone and car.

I also have moving quotes

quotes for US healthcare

e-mails from my employer looking at transfers,

I have 5x the needed income if I didn't have a co-sponsor (which I have TWO)

I transfered all my CDN savings to US accounts.

Do I have anything to worry about here because my husband stayed with me in Canada to help me with the sudden loss of my mother?

That all looks good! the only thing is whether your 5x income is in Canada or the US. Proof of US employment for at least one of you would be ideal (like a definite offer letter or a letter confirming employment), but if you have a co-sponsor who has the requisite income then you should be OK anyway :)

the 5x income is in US for me and I work as an artist on the side (which I can prove) AND my 2 co-sponsors are above the required amount and they sent a letter to me to bring saying I will be in their care, etc.

My concern was domicle, but in all immigration cover letters (US and Canada) we said we intent to return to the US

US employer, not US dollars, if I wasn't clear...but if you have sponsors it shouldn't matter anyway. If you're transferring to your company's US office, it would be good to have a letter from the US branch confirming US employment and USD salary. My husband had a letter from the Canadian branch confirming his future employment in the US and that wasn't good enough for them, so we ended up getting a co-sponsor in the interest of expediency.

Montreal seems like they're generally more concerned with the financial side than your urgent relocation. And your spouse has lots of ties, so your intent looks strong from where I'm sitting. My USC spouse was in Canada with me for ...six years? before we moved to the US earlier this year, and we didn't buy our new house down here until a month and a half after my interview. But I had moving quotes etc too, and a letter from a family friend saying we'd be renting their guest room until we found a house of our own, and that part went fine.

Get a letter from where you're going to live, even if it's with his parents for a little while. Just a formal rental or lease agreement.

Get a letter from where you're going to live, even if it's with his parents for a little while. Just a formal rental or lease agreement.

I do have that! Thankfully!

It's a letter from his dad and mum (my co-sponsors) saying we will be staying with them upon my arrival and all his 'proof of domicile' is linked to that address as well!

I was looking up more information on the Montreal embassy and my only concern is my car keys. They have the electronic unlocking thing right on them (which it says is not permitted at the embassy). I could leave them with my husband but he was going to come with me to wait in the waiting room.

Anyone have experience with this?
