But this story still isn't making sense to me. If they don't have fingerprints then they ask for a new biometrics to get the fingerprints. Sometimes people's fingers aren't oily enough and they don't get a good read. It seemed from your story that that was the issue. I figured you'd be waiting for a biometrics appointment. Are you sure you talked to Tier 2 about namechecks?

That's what I thought to. But I asked and the tier 2 person said" no new biometrics have been sent out, they are doing an FBI background check" I even explained my mom had no problem doing another round of biometrics. Then the tier 2 lady said" well some people after years of washing dishes damage their fingerprints" which is total rubbish.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

I would make INFOPASS if you can. Try to remind the IO to follow up.

But I think the person on the phone was full of it.

Hi Harpa I hope you can answer a question for me. When uscis wants a police clearance for unreadable finger prints, is it local, or international? They never asked for it But the lady on tier 2 mentioned it might "make it go faster" but everything I can find online says that you should get 2 bio metrics notices before that happens.

Thanks

Harry

I don't know on that, and I am not sure anyone knows because whatever exactly they do might be classified. The phone lady was full of nonsense, though, really.

I have seen some people report they were requested to get a local police clearance, but USCIS can do their own background checks so I don't know what that is about.

If your issue is really medical, maybe start a thread on that in "moving here and your new life in the US" because I really can't believe that a person who is legally present with AOS pending can't get insurance in California.

Have you made INFOPASS yet?

OP wants Medicaid for MIL.

She is not illegal.

It maybe worse than that. She's in USCIS purgatory. I still think this will be resolved quickly for OP. It's just that he/she is understandably being impatient due to needing medical coverage.

"She's in USCIS purgatory" THIS

Cant get private insurance on the private exchanges because she qualifies for California's medicaid/medi-cal. Cant get medi-cal because she needs a green card. Cant get the insurance illegal immigrants are entitled to because shes not illegal. Straight uscis purgatory. On top of that in the letter I put on the other post, there is no timeline for resolution.

Mounat I REALLY hope your right.

Hi every one, I have my info pass appointment for my mom on Tuesday, I wanted to know what you guys think I should say? So far I plan on asking

1. Why wasn't a second bio-metrics sent out?

2. what type of back ground check is currently going on with the case?

3. Is there anything we can do to make it go faster?

If you guys can think of anything else please let me know. Thanks,

Harry
