Dumb question about the I864

Sorry this might be super obvious but I just have a quick question I'm hoping to get out of the way:

For the i864, should my fiancee attach her copies of her Tax Returns (Form 1040EZ) or does she need the actual transcripts from the IRS that need to be ordered (via https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript)?

We tried submitting for online transcript but the system wasn't working and the mailed version is being sent to an old address - the change of address option apparently takes 4-6 weeks to take effect so this seems like it's a no-go...

We're lucky enough that the Government does our taxes for us in the UK so this is all kinda confusing for me!

You're filing for a K1 visa? The petitioner should be filling out the i-134 form and it should be brought to the interview; the i-864 will be used later on during your AOS.

Oh ok, I was just confused because you referred to your spouse as your fiancee hehe, sorry!

Anyway, tax transcripts are preferred, but if for some reason you can't get your hands on them you can send in her 1040, W2, and even pay stubs.

"You must provide either an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year. If you believe additional returns may help you to establish your ability to maintain sufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopies of your Federal individual income tax returns for the three most recent years.

If you provide a photocopy of your Federal individual income tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns. Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your Federal individual income tax returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint income tax return with your spouse and are qualifying using only your income."

Your fiance ? You mean spouse ? You file AOS after you marry.

I would call and have the official transcripts send to an address that is easily accessible to you as an C/O (in care of).

Yeah, sorry, spouse. We're both having issues with the new terms for each other, takes some getting used to!
