does anybody here have a problem with their name when filing the K-1 petition?

for example, my name shown on the certificate of naturalization is Kong L Phang....

however, a lot of my supporting document is Loon K Phang....

Does it really matter?

I would think you would use the name on your certificate of naturalization, which makes me think your first name is kong, your middle name is Loon, but you prefer to be called/named Loon. Is this correct?

Do you have a US passport? if so, how is your name spelled there? I would use the name that your passport/naturalization certificate/ssn/drivers' license card uses.

i understand.....

but what happen is all my supporting document is in Loon Phang....that make me so worry.....

i figure out if i go through a name change, it will take me another 2-4 months to change me name and replace the certificate of naturalization......

Any other suggestion?

Does the petition have a field for "other name used." That's what women use to list their maiden name. You could use it for the other version of your name. Then USCIS would not be surprised to see both names used.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

i probably give it a try....what i USCIS reject my petition, could i re-apply for the visa? what could happen to my petiton?

It seems unlikely they would reject your petition - more likely they would issue an RFE so that you could clarify matters. I do not believe there is any reason why you couldn't re-apply if the petition were rejected. Someone else may know better, but I wouldn't think that would be a problem.

Hey Guys, Please help me:

I am about to send out my petition and I found out on my short form US birth certificate obtain from the county I live in has my last spelt wrong by the last 2 alphabet but my US passport has the correct spelling of my last name..

In the same birth certificate they misspelt my mother maiden name.

What should I do? Should I still go ahead and I file the petition using my US Passport and using the mother's maiden name in the birth certificate currently. To correct these mistakes could take more a month.

Please Advance people....
