Can you imagine a kids show today showing the three stooges? People would be apoplectic

A lot of parents didn't allow their kids to watch the Three Stooges back in the day because of the violence. My parents didn't let me watch them in the house until I was in my teens. No biggie, I just watched them over my friends house.

But you're right, they probably wouldn't even make it onto the tv these days.

I'm not sure if that explains some things or just adds to the mystery. :P

Tom and Jerry would be banned if it were to air right now.

little of both. my poor little brother wasn't allowed the weapons that came with action figures. no guns real or fake! i do remember a david and goliath inspired slingshot, so i guess some weapons were okay.

How bout these guys?

They would have been great during my brief acid/mescaline days.

We also had "The Electric Company" with Rita Moreno and another local show called "Zoom" which had local kids as hosts of the show.

I was obsessed with Zoom when I was a little girl -- I wanted to be on it so badly. My mom ended up buying me a long sleeve, stripy shirt like the ones the kids wore on Zoom so I would stop bugging her about when we were going to Boston so I could audition.
