Is #TeacherBae’s Dress Too Tight for School?

the mere fact that it stirs controversy implies that it is perhaps inappropriate. I feel the teachers should be held to a higher standard in dress and behavior, there was a pedophile middle school teacher close to where I live that had several teacher of the year awards but ended his career with over 75 counts of inappropriate behavior. Success in your profession does not free you from conforming to the expected norm.

I think the shape of her body is what's causing the issue. Looking at her outfits, most of them look like regular business attire. As the better half said, if you can see prints, it's an issue. But in most of them, she's just regular clothes that are highlighted because of her curves.

maybe, I am old fashioned and a prude, I grew up in catholic schools, nuns are shapeless, sexless and ageless. If she looks too provocative, I think it's incumbenton her to tone it down.

I grew up when our teachers weren't nuns, but never was crushing on ANY of them. Ewww.

It's not provocative if it fits within the rules. You can't help it if you're built like that. Especially when your profession says you as a woman have to dress a certain way. If she was a bean pole and had the exact same clothes on, no one would make a big deal out of it.

i don't see any outfits in those pictures that are inappropriate. as long as she's following the dress code, she can't help how her body fills out the clothes she's wearing. if you crack down on her for form fitting clothes, then you'll have to also crack down on overweight employees who don't wear baggy clothes to hide their rolls..

Talk about a clean hit. You and J should add sound effects to your replies.

Look, there's really no way a woman can win this. Our very being out in the world in whatever shape we happen to come in or be in at a particular moment in time will invite comments. Too sexy. Too prudish. Too fat. Ugh, eat some food. Your neckline is so low, it's unprofessional. Why are you wearing a shapeless turtleneck when you're so gorgeous? Your hem is too short. Your hem is so long you look like you escaped from a polygamist cult. Your long hair is inappropriate for the workplace. A woman shouldn't have a short haircut -- do you want to look like a man? Wow, must suck to be flat-chested -- nobody wants to see that. Wow, you really need to keep your cleavage under control -- nobody wants to see that.

Being a woman is for better or worse a provocative statement. There is no way to win the game, particularly when women choose to take part in passing judgment on other women's bodies.

You forgot to add smile

Oh yes, smile. Why don't you smile more? Hey, who died? Smile for me! What's a pretty lady like you doing without a smile on your face?

There's nothing like having randos on the street instruct you to perform on command. Because what's a lady without a happy expression?

amirite?

It's football season, and it's homecoming week. So all week, there is some type of dress up day. Yesterday was Wednesday...Wacky Wednesday. Dress as wacky as you want.

I try to be funny and compliment people who are participating by wearing mismatched clothes. "Hey, I've never seen you look better." Things like that.

So, I pass by a new teacher and throw out, "Hey, looking good today." Then, I realize, she's not participating, she's just wearing a dress with really bright floral patterns.

I'm waiting to get called to HR.

OMG I'm so sorry. I'm sure they'll understand

She's young and new, I'm sure she didn't complain. I just had that awkward moment all by myself.

Maybe I talk too much. From now on, I think I'll just wink at my female coworkers.

Fail safe way to insure no sexual harassment charges there
