What’s inappropriate when it comes to teachers’ attire? (Photo: Getty)

A fourth-grade teacher in Georgia has become the subject of public ridicule and debate — and inspired the social media hashtag #teacherbae — for a handful of outfits she recently wore in the classroom.

The controversy started when Paris Monroe shared several #OOTD (outfit of the day) posts to her Instagram, proudly showing off a few fitted, “bodycon” dresses. In another shot, Monroe is wearing a tight pair of jeans and a long-sleeved Charlotte Hornets T-shirt. Though none of the outfits come close to revealing an inappropriate amount of skin, they do cling to the teacher’s generous curves — and therein lies the problem.

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

I think as long as she's not breaking school guidelines and her students are learning, that's all that matters.

Lets be honest. If she was not built like a Mack truck no one would care

Depends, with all the teacher/student issues happening, I'm not so sure.

If you can see bra and panty outlines and prints, it's not very professional attire. Some of her outfits I say no problem with, some, ehhhhhhh.

But are the kids learning? Lol.

Hence why I want your opinion. Didn't catch this.

Sounds like it, she won Educator of the Month.

The plot thickens

the mere fact that it stirs controversy implies that it is perhaps inappropriate. I feel the teachers should be held to a higher standard in dress and behavior, there was a pedophile middle school teacher close to where I live that had several teacher of the year awards but ended his career with over 75 counts of inappropriate behavior. Success in your profession does not free you from conforming to the expected norm.
