I was just curious is all and do not mean to offend anyone, everyone has the right to their belief it's not for me to decide if it is right or wrong for all I know mine is way off base.

No, I wasn't offended. I just meant that I've always thought that "The Unforgivable Sin" is not debatable. As in "The Ten Commandments". People usually don't say what they think the ten commandments are, they just are.

I thought the Unforgivable Sin was blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. I didn't realize the meaning could extend beyond that.

It doesn't. At least as far as I'm concerned, this is mostly God's problem to sort out, not ours.

Thanks goodness. One more thing to cross of my list of things-to-do! :P

For Christians I think it is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit but for Muslims I think it is blasphemy against God, period, though intention has to be factored in....for example if it's a kid and they're just shooting off their mouth without intentionaly inciting hatred towards God then obviously that doesn't count.

I try not to think too much about this stuff though. I mean I just wake up, put one foot in front of the other and try to follow the path that I believe in. Whatever happens outside of that isn't in my control, in my opinion.

I don't believe in YHVH - ergo I don't believe in sin; "Unforgivable" or otherwise.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

In Christianity, the unforgivable sin is to GRIEVE the Holy Spirit,i.e., reject Y'shua ( Jesus ) .

Eph. 4:30.

EVERY sin is covered under the blood and forgivable except for this one.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Kinzaza,

Not unless you ask Y'shua ( Jesus ) into your heart, believing that He died and rose again and ask His forgiveness. You can ' believe ' all you want in the Easter bunny , a cosmic egg, or a great mobius strip, but those things will not cover your sins. Y'shua paid the ultimate price so you would not have to.

hmm...yeah...well..i wont argue...I wouldn't know since I'm not a great Christian believer...too much need for scientific explanations...I'm actually more of a new ager...I believe in one creator/force that created humanity and in a lot of other things such as previous lives, ghosts, near death experiences, telepathy, optical model of subconciousness, past life regression and all that...I also tend to believe in all religions at once since they all have points in common...I do not tend to believe in heaven and hell though...should but I just cant....

Oh...btw do u know that in the Soviet Union there were experiments conducted on dead people? It was a cruel system and the discoveries were freaky. Prisoners and Terminally Ill people would be put in a certain room where they would die eventually because of being too ill to stay in prison or too ill to survive. They would die connected to machines that checks the heart rate. After a person dies, the heart rate becomes one straight line of the monitor...well..the bodies were not disconnected..they were left there and what people found is that on the 40th, 41st or 42nd day there was exaclty one movement of "heart rate"...like on pick...and that's it.........

Conclusion...both, Muslims and Christians are remembering the deceased on the 40th day...In christianity from what i know it is believed that that is when it's the final judgement...:) pretty scary...

There are so many things I know about this stuff it's scary and most of it is based on science...

I said yes and suicide.

You can ask for forgiveness from all the others and you can't ask for forgiveness for something you haven't done and if you commit suicide you are already dead so you can't ask.

I disagree. I think it matters what the state of that person was before they committed suicide. As a Christian, I believe that if a Christian commits suicide, in a moment of insanity or weakness, they will still be forgiven. There are split seconds after pulling a trigger or jumping where someone may immediately regret and have time to ask for forgiveness also. That's just my opinion on it though.

I do believe in an unforgivable sin, which I believe is blasphemy. To me that means not accepting that Jesus is the only way to God, so therefore how can you be forgiven by someone you don't believe in. Unless you acknowledge Him first, you can't be forgiven by Him when you die.

I agree, Stina. I do think there is an exception for the unknowing. If you are not aware of who God is or Jesus, I think God forgives ignorance. If you where raised in the jungle and all you know is worship of the sun, do you know any better? But then I wonder, maybe the Holy Spirit comes to them, too. Who knows.

I know what you mean. I agree about the exception for the unknowing too, and there are bible references about that. I should make it more clear to say that blasphemy to me is knowingly rejecting Jesus. If you have not heard about Jesus ever, I believe what you said because the bible says then people will instead be judged on something like "God's written moral code in their hearts" and if they listened to it or not in whatever culture or desert island they were on, where ever they never heard about Jesus.

I have spent too much time on here today, eeks! I have so much to do.
