I-94 taken at interview??

Hi........ when I went for my AOS interview through DORA in Oklahoma City they took my I-94 out of my passport and kept it. I asked about this and they said they always do. I thought I had to keep that with me at all times??

Another question......how do I register or whatever you call it on the immigration website to track your process so you can see when things have been touched, etc. Thanks.

me too i interviewed in oklahoma (D.O.R.A).and they took my i-94 out from my passport. but it,s normal .

and about how u can register for know your case online. u must to wait until they send u receipt from uscis. and u will find in that receipt 1 code ( MSC.............? then u can go to www.uscis.gov and then u will find register click on it and put your code and u will see your case online

Hicham....... Thanks for the information. I guess I will have to wait to get that reciept letter. Have you had your biometrics appointment yet?

I see in your timeline you got your SSN after you got married. Did they give you any trouble about not being considered as a K-1 anymore since you were married. Did you tell them at the Social Security office that you were married? Did you still have your I-94 to show when you applied for your SSN? I only have a photo copy of mine now since they took it. On the application for the SSN did you mark "Legal alien allowed to work" or "Legal alien not allowed to work"? There is a policy out there that states because of the classification of a K-1 that we are allowed to work. I'm not sure what I should put on the form. I was planning on going the day after tomorrow to apply for it as tomorrow will be two weeks since I arrived in the US. Thanks again.

when i applied to SSN i was still have 1-94 but when i received it i found them write on it ALLOWED TO WORK ONLY WITH EAD.
